I've been looking for a crush for quite some time now and congratulations to me, I already found not just one, but seven. SEVEN!
Anyway, my almost-40 year-old-ass is a little embarrassed to say that I'm fangirling on BTS right now. I know I'm a little late to the party but late is still better than never, y'all! And I'm glad I am on the bandwagon. Ngayon na lang ako ulit kinikilig hahahaha! Leche.
So this is what happened... my ate and I are both bingeing on Kdramas, separately. She just watched Hwarang, a history/period drama; whereas I would not and have not watched any period dramas cos it's just not my cup of tea. Ayun after watching Hwarang she started watching BTS videos on YouTube. Endlessly. On loop. She asked me if I know any BTS songs- Boy With Luv and Fake Love lang kasi they play those songs on The Morning Rush and sometimes those videos play in between Blackpink playlists on YouTube. That's it. I wasn't paying much attention to them. Pre-BTS obsession, they all looked the same to me. The last boyband I 'shipped was Shinhwa and that was 15 years ago. Reason why my Ate got into BTS pala was because one of the casts of Hwarang (V!) was a member of the group, so that's how she discovered them. And in turn, I discovered BTS through her (with continuous BTS songs on loop the entire day). Ang laki pala ng nagagawa ng pagbra-brainwash. Haha!
So.. shet, no turning back na ito. And my BTS heart is excited for June 14! AC and I will be watching BTS Bang Bang Con: The Live on Sunday! HUZZAH!!! Potek kinikilig ako hahaha! Exciiiiited ♥

Aren't they cute? Sobra, no? Every member has his own charm. Walang tapon. I may have my biases, but all seven members are equally important to the group.
Haay. Grateful for this- just one of the few things that is helping me get through this pandemic.
But this is not the first time I've heard of it. Being part of my high school batchmates' book lovers group, I have been introduced to the title. There's this one girl, Anna, who "ships" the book series and was, sort of, cajoling, with a passion, the others to read the book as well (which reminds me of myself when I recommend that other read Rainbow Rowell's Attachments). Eh I am not a fan of romance novels a lá Judith McNaught and there's something about books that look like this~
which makes me snub them. Haha. I tend to like pretty covers (Yes I judge books by their covers) and if they're boring like that of above, ayoko na. Plus, I don't like period dramas/stories because, umm, I just don't. I find them boring and slow. So I DL'd the first episode- willing to give it a try although at the back of my head I thought it would suck and I wouldn't like it. I fell asleep even before the first episode ended. The next day, I was thisclose to deleting the next two episodes. Well, sayang naman download ko so might as well watch it. And boy, was I glad that I gave it a chance☺
Because now here I am gushing about the series. WAAAAAAAAAH!

So yeah I'm in love with this series and this is how I felt yesterday after watching all eight episodes in two sittings
I notice I have a penchant for time traveling ek-ek. Well, Time Traveler's Wife lang naman and this one. And oh, both female protagonists are named Clare. Grabe I'm such a genius. Haha. Episode 9, please!!!
I was supposed to go supply shopping yesterday and to save on gas and other expenses, I decided to hitch a ride with AD who has something to attend to in Trinoma. My supplier is super near that area so I asked if after her event, we can just go to my supplier and pick up my order which I'm going to place in advance via phone call. And because I am a master procrastinator, I held off calling my order on the day itself and alas, both numbers weren't, umm, reachable. But I didn't know this until 11:11 AM.
While AD was in her event, was supposed to take C to Gymboree and then for a haircut. While in Mercury Drug to buy C's medicine, AD called and told me to come to the event after depositing C and yaya in Gymboree because Atom is one of their speakers. YAY! Gymboree was available at 3:30pm pa so we just took C for a haircut then we proceeded to the activity area. And Atom was there *le sigh*
So I was there, three rows behind him. Haha, ang stalker-ish ng vibe. But yeah, really think he's cute and so did a handful of college students from Miriam College. So here's the only shot I was able to take because I was so dyahe to let the fangirl in me out.
I gave this blog post the title "Serendipity Kuno" kasi on our way to Trinoma, AD mentioned that she read an article in a magazine where Atom was asked to choose between Snow White and Cinderella and he answered 'neither,' because they're both princesses and he'd rather go for Pocahontas. At that time, she didn't know Atom would be there. So by the power of the universe and Gray Skull, my chance encounter with Atom. NOT. Haha. Ambisyosang palaka.
So kahit hindi nako nakabili ng dapat kong bilhin, keri lang ;) Pero hindi totoo ang "ngiti pa lang, ulam na." Because the talk ended at 1:30 pm and when you only had oatmeal for breakfast, you'd get hungry famished, too.
Because I'm still fixated on ramen, we had lunch at Hanamaruken. First time to try this ramen place and although it was delicious, my ramen heart still goes to Ippudo. This is what we had for lunch~
AD ordered the spare rib ramen cos I said I like the tastier ramens than the clear soup ones, but I preferred the pork belly ramen which was supposed to have milder taste. My favorite this time was the gyoza

After lunch, had Coke float and hot fudge sundae at McDo. Comedy talaga si C, he was imitating my every move.
Gallivanted around the mall for a wee bit. Of course I had to visit Typo, a new money wasteland. I think I was able to visit a Typo store during our SG trip last 2012. And YES, everything's expensive. I really wanted the light blue pineapple ceramic but it's P399. I will go to Dapitan na lang. I can DIY some of the stuff I liked from there. Like the wooden laundry pegs. They're selling it at P399 din ata. Magpipintura na lang ako ng tig-25 pesos na wooden pegs galing Divisoria. But these I bought~
The pen and the raindrop stamp from Typo. The owl stickers from Toys R Us. The milky gel pen with seafoam-colored ink, P80; raindrop stamp, P80. And those, my friends, are the cheapest you can buy from that store. Greeting cards are 3 for P400, if I remember correctly. Oh my bulsa!

So there, my happy Saturday date with Atom (ASA! HAHA!), AD and C that ended with a massive headache.
I've accepted that Jessica lost to Phillip but I still can't move on from the Idol craze just yet. Not just yet, not now that Phillip just had won and we are now being bombarded with all things Phillip ☺ <stalker mode. hihihi >
What's adorable about him is he admits that he's not the best among the 12 finalists, that he's just a lucky guy, which is also true, by the way. Though that doesn't mean he isn't talented because HE IS! Jessica and Phillip have their own distinct styles and most Filipinos associate singing contests with birit-style pieces.
Today before I left to watch Joe Jonas (ha!), I watched him on Jay Leno. It must have been surreal for him to be sitting there, being interviewed by Jay Leno.
I admit that I like Phillip mainly because the guy is cute. I'm not a great fan of his performances on the show, maybe just his duet with Jessica and Bob Seger's We've Got Tonight
First got acquainted to the song via Ronan Keating's version, then the original one while watching The Wonder Years. Loved it the first time I heard it and I also love PP's version. Liked his version of Matchbox 20's Disease also. I miss Rob Thomas. Saan na kaya siya?
He's too cute. I just can't. And oh, his girlfriend's such a stage girlfriend, making herself visible- must be a signal to Phillip's fans to keep their paws to themselves.

Of course, I want Jessica Sanchez to win and if we're going to go with talent, there's no doubt she has it. But we have to remember that this is a contest where the viewers get to decide who wins and unfortunately for us, it is not us who get to make the decision. Even before the finale, I already had a nagging feeling that Phillip Phillips will win. I think it is called American Idol for a reason thus her Filipino-Mexican heritage may have actually worked against her favor. I'm just embarrassed by how most Filipinos reacted to Jessica's loss. Sore losers, we are.
Also, the demographics of the voters are teenage girls and young teenage girls find Phillip Phillips cute. Heck, I am no teenage girl and I do think he is cute. Nanaig lang ang sinasabing Pinoy Pride but if Phillips was against some other dude or girl, he definitely has my vote (which would be irrelevant since my vote wouldn't count).
Naman. I was watching the replay of the results night with my parents and sister. Ryan Seacrest had just announced the winner and when Jessica hugged Phillip, I told ate, "Ay, panalo na rin si Jessica kasi na-hug niya si Phillip." Natawa si Father Dear. Naisip niya siguro anak niya desperada. Haha.
Don't we do the same in text voting contests here? Either yung pogi o guapo o kung sino kailangan yung prize money. Diba? But really, even if Jessica is only runner-up to P(squared), she can consider herself a winner with a recording deal in the works with Tommy Mottola, no less.
The best performance in today's finale was Jennifer Holliday and Jessica Sanchez's performance of And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going for two things: 1) the vocal powerhouse and, 2) Holliday's very animated facial expressions
When I first saw Holliday on stage, I honestly thought she'll be doing a spoof... mukha kasing contestant sa Doble Cara. This is so mean of me (and a million others) but man, facial expression kung facial expression

And he can handle the intersect! Morgan has the intersect for like 2 seconds and then he feels super invincible and it went straight to his head but Chuck knew how work it perfectly.
I'm sad that this is Chuck's last season. I kinda grew attached to the whole Chuck cast especially the awesome trio of Chuck-Casey-Sarah. But all good things come to an end. Just look on the bright side, I'll always have the DVDs whenever I need a good dose of kilig or suddenly feel the need to swoon :)
Because I've gone cold turkey last Tuesday, I easily found my replacement ☺ Well, yeah, we're back to crushing on Korean actors and pop stars although I'm sticking to actors this time around. After watching Cinderella's Sister, I'm so smitten with ya, oppa ;)

Franco- Cast Away
I am in love with this song. The band is called Franco with Franco Reyes in lead vocals. Other band members also come from known bands like Buwi Meneses of Parokya and Gabby Alipe of Urbandub. First heard this on RX and I must admit that it wasn't love at first sound (?) but after hearing it a few more times, I'm totally smitten. Saw the video on Channel [V] just now and I think I have a crush on the lead singer. Ahh, I really like 'em with facial hair.
RPattz's GQ magazine cover is out. In the US. I don't know if it's already out here in the Philippines. And I don't even know if I'm getting a copy. Maybe not. I am not willing to shell out 400+ pesos for a magazine just because a cute guy's face is plastered in front of it. I'll just cross my fingers and hope that there'll be back issues available. I hope the fans aren't as rabid anymore. Nyahaha. Good luck.

I feel worried, excited, mad and happy all at the same time. Don't ask me how I do it because I, myself, don't know. I just feel them all simultaneously. Yan ang loka-loka.
Worried because one of the better-skilled nail tech is leaving for a greener pasture~ waitressing in a restaurant. How bongga is that?
Mad because I can't frickin' believe said nail tech is leaving the nail spa for a waitressing job.
Excited because it's Friday tomorrow. Tapos Saturday na. Tapos Sunday. Saan kaya kami uli kakain?
And happy because finally, there's a new Chuck episode. But I need 3D glasses! Chuck is in frickin' 3D!

Believe me when I say I really had no intention of going. In fact, I didn't even know there was such a thing, that is before Jaime brought tickets for us to go watch the ABS-CBN Christmas Special in Araneta Center. Two Saturdays ago, Jaime told us he's giving us tickets to watch their Xmas special. At first, I didn't really see the point in going but then I thought that this could be a good way to treat my angels.
Jaime gave Pam, Kosh and me 5 premier tickets. Pam and I went. Kosh wasn't able to make it, therefore giving her prized premier tickets to her PA. Kainis. Anyway, imagine my surprise when these premier tickets were seats located very, very near the stage. We were thisclose to the stars. Well, dinadaanan lang naman nila kami pero kahit na. Anyway, to cut the story short, giddiness ever kami ni Pamelita! I swear, Pam and I were so star-crazed! Showbiz kung showbiz. Kulang na lang yung mic na parang sa DJ at puede na kaming commentators~ hindi nauubusan ng mga komentaryo.
As I told Pam, I've never been in a place where there's this many cute boys! Oh my goodness, too much eye candy, I swear. But of all the cuteness, I must say my favorites were Christian Bautista, Jake Cuenca, Jon Avila and John Lloyd Cruz...

So shoot me. I don't care if I'm going overboard with this Twilight/RPattz obsession. What else could distract me from my weekly GG and Chuck fix? None other than RPattz/Twilight. What else could make me not care whether or not I see EC? RPattz/Twilight. Yes, I was am that obsessed. Suffice to say, "RPattz, you are my life now." Ha. That was cheesy.
Obsession over Twilight and RPattz also reconnects you with old friends. Take Anna and me, for example. We were like good friends back in grade school. We used to hang out together, play Qzar and go to Quantum X in Shang together... we even sent snail mails to each other over the summer break. Then high school happened. We never became classmates again and must have never spoken to each other (unintentionally). But looks like the shared obsession over Twilight and Robert Pattinson has opened the lines of communication for us.

Anna was like fueling my obsession. I don't think I was as obsessed before but then she gave me all these websites and videos to watch. I'm so guilt-stricken over the time I spend on the net, just ogling at pictures of RPattz. I swear this is not the end of it.
And here's something Anna made me do. Do it. This one's PRICELESS.
I'm done with Eclipse. I never thought I would be able to finish reading three books in two weeks. That is a record! Well, technically, I didn't read it. Rather, I listened to it. But I must say that audiobooks are quite handy. I was able to do what I was supposed to do while listening to the book. After 3 books, I just got a little annoyed at how often the author used the word chuckled. And she also loves using the word infinitesimally. I think she could have consulted the Thesaurus for synonyms instead of using the same words over and over.
Now that we're in the topic of Twilight, I'm disappointed that the movie's gonna come out on November 26 and not on Nov 21. Just when I thought that there were only 6 days of wait... I would have to add 5 more frickin' days. The agony... But I think I would also have to remind myself not to get excited and expect too much or I might be in for a big disappointment. I super duper mega over hope that the movie's REALLY GOOD.
I initially thought Rob Pattinson's not as goodlooking as how Edward Cullen was described in the book. But after a gazillion minutes of fangirling and watching lots of interviews of the cast, behind-the-scenes vids and trailers, I find myself slightly crushing on him. I like scruffy. I like facial hair. I like how his hair is so unruly. Bwahaha! Basta tama ang angle, cute naman siya eh. And I think the accent did it for me. After hearing him talk in that lovely English accent, I was smitten as a kitten.
I read in one of those gossip blogs that there was this one time when a 7-year-old kid asked Pattinson if he could bite her. A 7-year-old reading Twilight??? Isn't she supposed to be reading stuff like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty? Gah! If I were a parent, I wouldn't let my 7-year-old daughter read Twilight. A book about vampires filled with kissy-kissy moments? Totally a no-no for a child.
I'm done watching the first two seasons of The O.C. on DVD and I will continue watching the series online. The only reason I bought the DVD was I thought Surfthechannel's going bust by the start of October. But it's still online and working perfectly so I'll continue my OC marathon in front of the computer.
I don't know where these people get their never-ending supply of drama. And I thought that having lots of moolah would actually save you from the trouble of real life (aka poverty and all the problems that entail it). But no. Apparently, Notorious B.I.G has got this one right, Mo' Money Mo' Problems. But I still don't get it why their lives get so messed up. Everything's handed to them on a silver platter and yet they still manage to screw up. But that's not going to be my problem so why should I care, right?
The OC is different from Gossip Girl. At least for me, GG seems like a... fantasy. I don't know if the lives of the very very rich kids are similar to those of the characters on GG; but the characters on The OC are more real, dealing with more conceivable problems. Plus, they have parents that actually do parenting.
And I know that the main reason why I started watching OC was Rachel Bilson. However, I found another reason to keep watching 'til the end- Seth Cohen. His character is so funny. I swear I want my own real-life Seth Cohen. Before, I used to say that I want my own, real-life Dan Humphrey, but now I don't. Seth Cohen is like Dan Humphrey but funnier and way cuter. And to add to my fictional character crushes, Chuck Bartowski. I love Chuck. Whaddyaknow, I like geeks- the cute, non-freakish kind.
Since I'm sick for the past 2 days and am staying at home sans guilt, I went on with my Hana Kimi marathon. I started watching on the net but since it always took a gazillion years to load a single episode, I decided to buy the dvd. And so I am now enjoying Hana Kimi without the lengthy wait.
Hana Kimi has three versions: Korean, Taiwanese and Japanese. I've seen the Korean version, Coffee Prince and loved it although there were scenes that made me cringe. The Japanese and Taiwanese versions were shown at the same time in different channels but I only got to see the Taiwanese one and loved it with its oh-so-many kilig scenes. Well, according to Juno (the source, hehe) if I'm going for kilig, I should watch the Taiwanese version but if I'm going for the laughs, then the Japanese version it is. But I like kilig ergo the Taiwanese version.
Aside from the kilig, I also love the two main guy characters: Quan (Wu Chun) and Xiu Yi (Jiro Wang). As in super super cute boys! Hahaha! Umandar na naman ang pagka-matrona.
Wu Chun, wo ai ni! Hehe! This picture doesn't do him justice. He's more good-looking than this. He looks so much better in the series. According to Juno, he used to be a gym instructor... which explains the abs.... abs kung abs.. :P

But both boys are sooo pretty... bordering on you-know-what. Pretty boys... haaay...
I like watching PBB Teen Edition. The 2nd batch is much more interesting than Kim Chiu's batch. Since this batch is comprised mostly of mongrels* rather than last year's mostly pure-blooded flips, I think this season will be much more interesting. Siempre, may mga culture clashes and that I've got to see.
*term I use to refer to halfsies, started to use the term when my cousin (who is half-Korean, Half- Filipino) and I got into this asaran fit and called her mongrel since she's mixed, and ever since I refer to anything mixed as mongrel...
And another reason why I like watching PBB is I crush Robi, the Atenean guy. He's cute. And smart. He's described as geeky and I think that being a geek is perfectly fine. Actually, I like geeks. Judging from the crushes I've had, most were geeks and payatot. Only one guy didn't fit the description... he's payatot alright but he's so far from being a geek... malayo... kasing-layo ng Pluto sa sun.
Coming from the rival school, it feels like I'm betraying my alma mater that I'm rooting for the enemy. But as the old adage goes, All is fair in love and war.
Armida told me he played John Tucker's younger brother in John Tucker Must Die. At first I didn't believe her. As far as I could remember, the brother was an ugly one. I didn't even give him much attention. Basta all I could remember was he's not crushworthy.
And much to my amazement, he is crushworthy NOW. Key operative word: Now.
And here is Penn Badgley now.
Good thing he decided to chop off his dreadful locks. But I am not really crushing on the actor, more like on the character he is playing.
Dang! Why does he have to be so sexy? According to my googling, Kim Nam-jin was born August 8, 1976 which makes him 29 years old to date. Not bad. Still a healthy age gap. And he's soooo tall, he stands at around 6'2. He might not be uber good-looking at first sight but he grows on you. Sabi ko na nga ba I saw him before... I'm just not sure where. Apparently, it was on an ad he did with Hyori for FRJeans. I didn't find him good-looking at first cos his flared nostrils were just so distracting. But after seeing Prince's 1st Love... haaayyy. Mas marami na akong aabangan sa Arirang and KBS... Woohoo!!!
