counting down

Just a few hours before the new year begins. I have a feeling 2011 will be awesome, much more awesome than 2010. Woot.

Alongside the new year will also be new resolutions (that I've yet to make) that would most likely be broken even before the first month of the year ends. One of my staple NY resolutions is to lose weight. Well, I did lose weight towards the end of this year but I quickly gained it back come holidays. Dang. And just like that, I gained the 2 lbs. I lost. Haha. Fretting over 2 measly lbs... Weight loss, we will be back with a bang :) But I kinda expected the return of the comeback of the 2 lbs; I was even expecting more than that with all the mocha fraps I've devoured just this month for that frakkin planner I don't even use. Well, that and December's usually is the time of the year when it is perfectly okay to pig out with all those get-togethers and Christmas parties.
gallivanting around the city with little shaolin
I've had an awesome December with all those get-together with close friends and family. I also had an awesome Christmas which was spent with my family and my two nephews ☺ Though we were missing a family member who, I'm sure, also enjoyed their own celebration over there yonder. I'm loving all my gifts: magic 8 ball from Y, shirts from AD and V, watch from AC and wallet from A. Christmas eve dinner of Christmas ham, spaghetti, hot salad, etc and my daddy's scrumptious anemic dinuguan ♥ I'm requesting for dinuguan again this New Year but I'm not too sure about that. Though inihaw na baboy would be enough to make me one contented girl.

Excited for 2011 but not yet ready because I haven't had my manipedi yet (IKR?) and haven't planned the New Year's Eve dinner menu just yet. Too bad because AD will be with her in-law's for the vísperas of the New Year, which means I am left with ze wet blanket who only wants grapes and this one other food for the occasion. And when I said, "Yun lang?" She answered, "Ayoko naman LUMAMON." Ay, I should've known better than to ask someone who sleeps through Christmas and NY's eve sometimes. Resolution #1: AVOID NEGASTARS. But how do I do that when we sleep in the same room? I hope AD can help me plan tomorrow's NY meal even if she won't be spending it here with us.

New Year resolutions tomorrow ☺

almost christmas

Just a few hours before Christmas, baby! I'm excited not for the gifts but because my two nephews will be celebrating with us. Of course, also looking forward to our noche buena. Two years ago, it was the first time for me (or for the whole family, for that matter) to spend Christmas with one family member MIA in the celebrations, who was AC who was in China. This year, we won't be complete again as AB is in New York and will be celebrating Christmas 12 hours later.

One of my accomplishments this season was completing the simbang gabi- physically present for 9 days, y'all! I say physically present because there might have been times when my mind went off to la la land for a bit like what happened earlier today. Our shop's Christmas party ended 1am and because I didn't want to go to sleep for fear that I might oversleep and miss the last day, I stayed up until it's time to go to church. So yes, I can make that wish now... DONE ☺ Now, let's just wait and see if it comes true. Ojalá! And as early as now, I am claiming it already. I know it will be done, according to Divine Providence and to the powers of the universe na rin.

And yeah, got a Christmas present yesterday... not really a present-present but definitely something that I often wish for. Kulang pa din but as they say, beggars can't be choosers. I still want more and I know I'm still up for more. For the first time ever since that frickin' 11:11 thingamajig entered my stream of consciousness, it worked. For two consecutive days ☺

Merry Christmas everyone and hope everyone's wishes and hopes and dreams come true ♥

mumbo jumbo moment

Almost missed the 8th night of simbang gabi. I slept without setting my alarm to 3am. Good thing daddy's home already and he woke mommy up, who in turn woke me up at 4 am. So yes, wala nang ligo-ligo. TMI much?

Well, let me savor the beauty of doing nothing... at least for the next hour. Resting for a a wee bit after running off early this morning to deliver an order and meeting up with my NY-bound cousin to make padala some bilins and Christmas gifts. Ya, make padala talaga. Parang make 'booking' ba 'yan? Which is actually make buking or blow something wide open. Frakkit.

Now I need to get my lazy arse off this monoblock chair but but but I'll end this post with a song I love love love ♥

I hope it's gonna make you notice
someone like me
Toodles xoxo

i'm zo showbezzzzz

And before I forget (I almost did, if it weren't televised last night on tv) about my very ma-showbiz Tuesday night. Got passes to ABS-CBN's Christmas Special at Araneta Coliseum c/o Jaime. What a perfect way to treat the girlilets, ya? Well, yes for me also haha! Ma-showbiz din naman ako pero ang main pakay ko ay si... John Lloyd. What can I say, I am a creature of habit. I also watched the network's Christmas Special two years ago with a friend who is also a John Lloyd swooner.

Anyway, here are some of the pictures I took from the concert- what my sister's camera's zoom can get.

Of course una ang John Lloyd shot ;)

Enchong :)
This year's amazona- Empress. But she's really pretty, I'm just distracted by the size of her thighs, peace! And oh, there's Enchong again somewhere there and my newest boy crush- Sam Concepcion. zomg, jailbait y'all.
Gretchen with her guinea pig-esque frock, flanked by hunkalicious hotties, except Jake Cuenca who I don't find so hot anymore. I think Gretchen was trying to channel Kylie Minogue... operative word: trying. FAIL.
Kaloka ang dami nilang talents! I don't even know most of them.

Still, another Enchong shot. Such a cutie. Sayang lang talaga if ever totoo ang mga sabi-sabi na siya ay isang chickboy: mapa-chick, mapa-boy. Anyway, just for viewing purposes so keri na rin.

I guess we would have to settle with a pixelized shot of John Lloyd this year. Two years ago, we were thisclose. Better luck next time ;) But I am happy na din with this year's seating arrangement. Ha, as if I have a say. Beggars can't be choosers.
Eeeep! John Lloyd!!!

I was kinda expecting Sharon to be thinner but no, she's still big.

The finale.
I swear I want to lose weight especially after seeing how thin Zsa Zsa is. Anyway, this year my eye candies this year is as follows:
  1. John Lloyd (siempre, top of my list)
  2. Sam Concepcion
  3. Christian Bautista
  4. Enchong Dee
  5. Guji Lorenzana
In fairness naman dalawa lang ang bata, at isa lang ang minor. So there... the mad ravings of a fangirl. I'm glad naman that the girlilets enjoyed as well albeit much more than I did. Hopefully next year I can score passes again.

very merry

Just six days before Christmas and five more simbang gabi mornings☺ I have yet to do my Christmas shopping because I haven't done any. As in zero, zilch, nada. I guess this would result to yet another last minute Christmas shopping. I need to make a list... later.

Anyway, amidst the busyness of December was my cousin's wedding. I am so grateful that I have a sister who designs and makes clothes so I had something to wear to the wedding and not fret about not finding anything in the closet that would fit me. Last December 11 which was also my sister's birthday, my cousin was married in a land far, far away otherwise known as Fernbrook Gardens. We were late to the church ceremony, which I think is to be expected of us. Not a good thing but is a fact. With such picturesque venue, we couldn't help but take bazillions of photos.

The reception was a beautiful winter wonderland theme with all those pretty cardboard snowflakes and sequins on the table.
Anyone who guesses what the hanging word on the table centerpiece means would win an overnight stay at the Sofitel. Frickin' badingger host who only called on the boys who don't even have a frickin' idea what ai, sarang or liebe mean. They weren't able to guess it but the host gave them the GCs pa din. Unfair. Un-frickin-fair.

Anyhoo, enjoyed the night with my relatives. The biased emcee and "Aling Dionisia" provided the entertainment for the night. Would've been the perfect night only if my shoes weren't killing me. But aside from that, everything's perfect ☺

Back to my dress which was inspired by this:
of course, Blair's style is my top-of-mind reference when it comes to dress inspirations. If only I have her body type, it would've been more perfect but since we've got to make do with what we have, this is what we've come up with
I prefer it in black but black is usually not advisable to wear in weddings so we ended up with salmon which I think complements my skin tone. But really I am thankful for this dress and who made it because it fit like a glove and I was totally comfortable in it. Okay have to go now, have to wake up at 3am for the simbang gabi but before I do, here's my latest gratitude list~

additional orders from friends and classmates   day 4/9 of simbang gabi   free tickets to this TV network's Christmas special   swiss miss cocoa in mint chocolate   day-out with Ycel at RP    mozzarella-filled piadina finally getting all 17 stickers needed to get that 'free' planner and actually getting the planner Joaquim's 1st birthday @ Cafe Lidia free movie having a sister who designs and makes clothes Joaquim and Anton coming over for Sunday lunch

Have to end this now, she's home already. Haha. Toodles!

pick flick: tron legacy

Eastwood last night with BFF Armida. Merienda/dinner at Kogi Bulgogi (or is Kogi Korean?) and I had scrumptious beef bulgogi rice toppings and jap chae. After our almost 2-hour meal, we made pasear around the mall, usi at the tiangge and that's when I saw Tron Legacy's movie poster. I absolutely have no clue about the movie and have come to know about it only through Chuck, my favorite geek. Because we still have a lot of time on our hands and Armida has her handy dandy movie pass, we watched Tron Legacy.
Garrett Hedlund- my current eye candy ;)
this girl's brows are to die for! Of course, she's beautiful as well but I reckon the brows are attainable
  1. Garrett Hedlund plays Sam Flynn, Kevin Flynn's son who is also some sort of a techie. It's official, Hedlund is my man-crush as of the moment. Abs kung abs, pare ;) I like **ahjumma mode** Of course, googled him right away when I got home and found out he was Harlan in Georgia Rule. Grabe, styling really does wonders. Even if this movie has got me scratching my head at the end, just ogling this eye candy compensates for the mostly clueless two hours of Tron Legacy.
  2. I wonder if Chuck, in any of the recent episodes, mentioned 2010's remake of his 1982 favorite. Because I have been very busy the past few weeks, I haven't been able to watch Chuck (or any of my favorite series for that matter) and I am interested to find out if he had made any mention of the movie.
  3. Another sign that I am watching too much local tv- Kevin and Clu actually reminded me of Agua Bendita. Haha.
  4. If I were to create an alternate universe, I think I would make it better than our universe. I really find it weird and I don't think anyone would want to live in a world like that- first, there's too much violence; and second, they only have three or four colors. Such an unhappy place, I tell you. If I were to create an alternate universe, I'd make it a place I would want to escape to, not to escape from. Kevin kind of realizes this towards the end when he says that he was so obsessed with creating perfection that he failed to see that it was just right before his eyes all the frickin' time.
  5. Olivia Wilde's brows are beautiful! I covet her brows truly madly and deeply. If only I could have brows like that I would be one happy girl, but then again what are these brow powders and pencils for? But yeah, she makes me want to watch the more recent seasons of House.
  6. 28 years ago, a movie like this would've been the shizz with all the science fiction ekek but living in the here and now where science fiction is slowly become more science and less fiction, I am not that much awed with this one. Don't get me wrong because I liked the movie though I am not a raving fan.
I don't know if there will be another sequel. I think yes, but then again my guesses are almost always wrong so let's just wait and see. I still cannot fully grasp what the movie's all about. I think I get it but I am not sure if I really do. But I will stop dissecting the movie and just revel in Garrett's hunkiness ;)

Tron Legacy is movie # 62. Ack. 38 more movies to go and only 11 days left of 2010. Although I think it still is possible with all the DVDs still unwatched and Ycel's pamanang VCDs but then again there's the factor of other pressing matters that needs to be done like the books of account, blech. Ay basta, Garrett Hedlund **sigh**

blah blah blah

Will be attending my cousin's wedding tomorrow. Still don't have a strapless bra (TMI, ikr?) and shoes that will go well with my dress. Tomorrow's also our high school batch's 10th year reunion. I wanted to go but I reckon my cousin's wedding is much more important than some reunion with people I haven't even talked to for almost a decade. A little bit irked with three big zits on my face right now. Perfect, dang zits always know when to make an appearance. Always, always before an event. Psssh...

Tomorrow's going to be a hectic day which will be started off with a quick trip to IC to deliver Jaime's order. Will be dropping by a supplier to buy some materials. Then back home to prepare for the wedding. Here's hoping to bumping into him again ;) Kahit yun na lang pabuenas sa isang ngarag na umaga.

Speaking of ngarag, I have been running to and fro malls and building lobbies to deliver orders. I love it, actually. I hope I could do this more often, not only during the Christmas holidays. I love doing something, being busy with things to do. Plus, I get to gallivant around malls with the perfect excuse of delivering someone's order. But mall visits have to be kept short because other pending matters have to be attended to aka nuestra salon para las uñas and other orders. This means I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. Boo! For sure, last minute na naman eto which I kinda hate. I'm not yet sure if this coming week will be the last wave of orders (of course, I'm hoping not) but if it is, I hope to do my Christmas shopping a week before Christmas.

still, having a driver (actually, my mother's) who can drive me so I could deliver orders a handy dandy notebook to list all the orders on new season of Bones finally finishing The One Minute Entrepreneur a new maid who also knows how to do manipedis wrapping gifts for my nephews plain white v-neck shirts permed lashes chats with clients pasalubong from Jo Daddy's home for cousin's wedding Shakey's Bunch of Lunch for lunch new pens the fact that compared to you, I am actually considered skinny :p 10-peso iced tea packs, great alternative to Coke cravingslate afternoon walks especially in this season's weather ♥

And oh, I still want to go on a Divi trip one last time before it goes crazy crazier. I want to buy a new pair of jeans. This is more of a need than a want, actually. Also, I need to get stuff for my girlilets. Though I don't want to go there alone. It sure feels much more enjoyable when the experience of squeezing yourselves in that crowd mob is shared with another. Ay mygolly banana, I'm way past my self-imposed time frame for tonight's internet use. I need to sleep now, will have to run errands tomorrow very early. Toodles ;)

de felicidad

I'm feeling more jolly these days. Umm... not because jolly old St. Nicholas and I share the same body type ;) It is because there are just so much to be thankful for. I can give you a rundown of all things shitty/sad that has happened or is happening but I just won't go there. Instead, let me enumerate life's little pleasures ☻
... it's almost Christmas! 17 sleeps, to be exact
... and it also follows that I'm in love with the cool weather that the season entails
... seeing my nephew last Sunday
... our house smelling nice. Kisses & Mistletoe, FTW
... trickling orders (although would love them to pour instead)
... making out of divi unscathed amidst the cuh-raaaazy holiday rush
... lunching with old friends
... getting 5 new bottles of nail polish from my sister
... seeing christmas lights sprawled everywhere in the city
... cute babies
... Bones re-runs and a new season tomorrow
... the LRT, for making commutes fast and painless
... afternoon naps
... the morning rush and jumpstart on rx
... tape dispensers
... just seven stickers away from getting that planner
... re-usable (eco) bags
... simbang gabi in a few

and so much more! Ta-ta for now. Will work on orders and attend to manning duties later. Landlady of leisure is what I'll be. Soon. Walang kokontra :p

christmas list

Stuff I want not just for Christmas but any time of the year ;)
  • bareMinerals foundation in golden beige and multi-tasking minerals in summer bisque A late bloomer I am although I think I haven't really bloomed yet or if I'll ever bloom. Anyway... my skin is really sensitive, therefore any foundation/face powder either makes me break out or gives me bazillions of blackheads. Thanks to mineral make-up I've found something to hide my kuti-kuti, haha! I have already Maybelline's mineral foundation but it's making my face itch most especially when it's humid. This is actually more of a need than a want.
  • calculator that prints out receipts Actually what I want is a cash register that goes ka-ching every time you make a sale. Someday I know I will have a cash register but as of the moment a calculator with receipt output will do. Alam ko wala naman masyado use pero gusto ko lang siya.
  • a nikon d40 It's hard being a camera squatter. I don't have a pressing need for one as of the moment but sometimes I just want my own. I want it to be my call whether or not to delete a picture nor I don't want anyone telling me to delete my pics from their camera.
  • solano tourmaline flat iron Or any brand of tourmaline flat iron to tame my unruly 'do. How in the world do we channel Olivia Palermo when all my baby hair's gone berserk?
Hmmm... what else do I want? As of now these are the only stuff I can think of. For sure there will be additions to the list :)
To be continued...

    pick flick: my amnesia girl

As some sort of thanks to Ate Jo, my sister's seamstress, who helped with my bazaar, I gave her blush espadrilles (which I also like for myself) and treated her to lunch and movie yesterday. Had lunch at 3pm already at Jollibee with Jollibee favorites, spaghetti and chickenjoy, then we're off to the cinemas to ogle at John Lloyd's cuteness.

    1. First of all, I commend this movie for not using a song title for it's, well, title. Might seem trivial to others but that is a big deal for me. So sick and tired of movies named after songs. Although a little bit Korean movie-ish ang title, keri na rin.
    2. And also, wigs! There was again use of a wig here but props to whoever was in charge of wardrobe (or is it styling?) because it wasn't obvious. The wig didn't look like an entire different entity from the wearer as the norm in Star Cinema movies.
    3. I liked how the trailer didn't reveal the "twist," so to speak. Sabi nga nila, with Filipino movies you just have to watch the trailer and you'll know the story of the movie already, no need to watch it in the cinemas. I was delightfully surprised with this one.
    4. And of course it also helps that John Lloyd stars in this movie. Cuteness overload ♥ especially when he wiggles his butt. Haha!
    5. If someone stood me up at the altar and I do something to retaliate, I definitely won't apologize. He deserved it for all the hurt caused, right? Kapal naman ng fez niya na siya pa may gana ma-hurt ano! Maybe that's the only bit in the movie I was not agreeable to.
    6. I like Toni's Tory Burch flats! Unfortunately, a pair costs around 12K ata. No na lang. Andami ko nang mabibili sa 12K. A whole wardrobe already plus I could throw in a pair of Anthology flats with that amount.
Definitely a must-watch for all John Lloyd oglers and rom-com lovers like moi. But beware and get ready to be inundated with cheesy lines which, in fernezzz, benta naman.

a very happy bunny once more

Hello!!! I'm back~ alive and kicking! I have many many kwentos from the bazaar but since that was five days ago, the memory of it is not so fresh anymore and I don't think I can relate my experiences with much enthusiasm so I better not. Let's just say that it was a success and I am praying and hoping that I can secure a slot again for next year with the same organizers. And oh, what a great sense of fulfillment I had during those four days as people commended on how cute and/or nice my products and packaging are. Plus, AD wasn't there most of the time and I must say I was proud of myself for stepping out of my shell and did some sales talk myself. I feel so lucky being given a slot the last minute plus being given a slot in a strategic location which is also near the CR (that only a few people know of) and also a very well-ventilated area. I must say I'm one very happy bunny!

There are two things I learned from this experience: #1 I should've come prepared, meaning I should have made lots of stock because I actually ran out of stuff to sell. There were a lot of lost sales. We could have made more had I had more stocks on hand. Last year kasi wasn't much of a success so I intentionally made a few products. Sayang talaga. But then again, not bad. It was a problem alright but a good one I must say. I'm very grateful to You ☺ and oh there's #2 pa pala- tartine is pronounced as 'tartan' not 'tarteen.'

Bazaar was very tiring and my body still aches here and there but what the heck, all worth it, I tell you. Sana talaga next year uli ☺

And on the first day of December, let me do a run-down of all the things I am oh so grateful for:
a new nephew ♣ people's appreciation of your work ♣ sisters who support your endeavors ♣ a skin care regimen that seems to be working ♣ bazaar being a success ♣ two shirts for only P350 each ♣  clear, blue skies and cool Christmas breeze ♣ a bar milk chocolate all to myself ♣

Five days ago my head was filled with all these things I am so thankful for but now that I want to write them down, my mind went blank. Basta, God knows how thankful I am for everything :) I still have a lot to do but I think I can squeeze in a a movie or two to add to my Project 100 Movies this 2010. Also downloading those missed GG, Chuck and HIMYM episodes. Utter bliss.
