Cos It's Just Another Rainy Day

It's raining hard since 3am this morning and once again our area is flooded as in Ondoy proportions. Thank God that until now we have electricity. Hopefully the rain stops pouring soon so water outside would start subsiding and not enter the house. Kaloka kaya maglinis.

I've been meaning to do two book reviews pero eto muna- my gratitude list ♥

♥ Having dinuguan thrice in 2 weeks! And that happens very very rarely. As I've mentioned before, dinuguan is our version of lechon. We only have it on special occasions like birthdays and Christmas and sometimes pag nakakapaglambing kay daddy at napapagbigyan but now that I'm HUGE (Read: Fat), hindi na effective ang "beautiful eyes." So imagine my delight and surprise when we had dinuguan two more times. Heaven.

♥ Two more orders. This time of the year, usually, I'm busy preparing for the bazaar and the Christmas season and not a lot of personalization/party orders. So I was pretty ecstatic when two bulk orders were made. In fair mas may activity ako this year and I promise to make next year even more happening. Thank You!

♥ .And this.

This made my day yesterday. In fair, may bunga naman pala ng aking Eastwood escapades last year. If I had more than enough funds, I would have joined the bazaar organizers last summer pero dahil hindi mahaba ang pisi ko, I have to choose what bazaars to join wisely. Anyway, it always feels good to receive messages like this one. I'm always skeptical pa naman of what I do. Laging may self-doubt. But this kind of messages give me affirmation I need.

♥ Finally finishing two more books (however, I am still 7 books behind). Thank God for audio books which allowed me to finish a book while doing something else- hitting two birds with one stone, in other words.

♥ Divisoria finds! Went to Divi last Tuesday to do some "shopping." Feels na feels ko na ang Christmas sa Divisoria because they're already selling Xmas decors and lights and all Christmas-y stuff over there. So that plus I finally bought a plastic sealer and paper lanterns. Plastic sealers and paper lanterns make me happy. So happy.

I always forget the other things when it's time to write them down. But whatever they are, I am thankful for them. I pray God will shower me with more blessings.

Umm...

Maybe next year I will make a resolution to update my blog more frequently. Not for anyone else, but for me actually. Sometimes, keeping an old-school journal, in other words, a notebook- may dangers of being found out by snoopy snoops (pero actually ako yung snoop so baka medyo safe na ako but you see, one can never be too sure. I am very wary of people like me. Haha! Plus, I can't put music, videos, pictures and other chuva in my old-school journal. What if I feel sentimental about my Korean music ten years ago? There's no way I can embed a YouTube video of Bogoshipda like this:

Diba?

So anyway, I'm super mega backlogged na naman with all the things I should've begun months ago. Medyo I was caught off-guard when this whole relocation shizz happened at nang nagulumihanan ang mundo ko. The NS wasn't the only one displaced; my Production Area was, too. Eh medyo matagal akong maka-move no sa mga ganitong pangyayari. Pero in fernez, I've made several trips to the suppliers already. Still don't have everything I need but I could already start with what's available. And you know what's bongga? I have two giveaway orders for September. Huzzah! Thank God ☺ Talagang by January hindi ako magseself-mandated month-long rest aka hibernation aka guilt-free lazy days para hindi mawala sa momentum.

Yesterday, I was supposed to go to my suppliers but traffic was horrendous so that didn't push through. Instead, we went to SM Masinag and watched The Gifted, the movie I vowed to never, ever watch. Eh libre. So kinain ko na lang sinabi ko. Movie (non)review here.

Yesterday's haul:

Organic products- massage oil, lemon soap and herbal balm. I like trying out new products, making myself the guinea pig. Hopefully effective sila.

Went to two suppliers today. V wasn't able to do her work so only my to-do's were accomplished. I treated her to Chinese lumpia at Muy Hong for driving me around.

Y to the Ummy. Corny.
Delish! I remember I didn't like this the first time I tried it but now, I loved it. Pero I can share one order of fresh lumpia (Php90/each) then order another dish. Nakakaumay if I were to finish one order all by myself- like what I did today because V didn't want to share hers. So I ate one whole lumpia and one order of siomai. So for dinner, I only ate veggies and a banana. Compromise ba.

But I am eating one huge piaya as I type this one and I saw two bags of Pop Corners which I am soooo tempted to eat at 10:30 pm! This means I should go to sleep soon before I feel more hungry and give in.

Life Begins At 32!

And so I am 32. Just like when I turned 30 or 31, I didn't feel different. To be honest, I still feel like a teenager only with more bodily pains and aches. Haha! Which, in hindsight, is not actually funny. The only difference from now and 17 years ago is the excess poundage and of course, responsibilities and duties of being an adult. Dammit.

Claimed my annual birthday treat from AD a day earlier. Had the day perfectly planned out but mommy needed me to do this one errand which threw everything off course. I walked so much I beat my personal record- the pedometer counted 16000+ steps! And of course I was dead tired from all the walking I did and it was only 11:30 in the morning.

Had lunch here and I. LOVED. IT.
Ycel's home from Dubai and since this is the only common "free" day we had, she joined AD and I for lunch. So we had a booboo and ordered almost that has shrimps in it and Ycel is allergic to shrimps.

pomelo salad
prawn cakes
EVERYTHING'S YUMMY! I was in Thai food heaven☺ Everything- the prawn cakes, pomelo salad, beef rendang, cinnamon pork ribs! And to think I was hesitant at first to try the cinnamon pork ribs just because it had cinnamon. You see, I dislike cinnamon- the taste, the scent- so I avoid everything cinnamon. But thank God I mustered enough courage to try the dish and it was scrumptious. Didn't taste like cinnamon at all.

After lunch, spent time with Ycel (which she spent shopping) in my favorite store, Landmark. I also introduced her to the wonderful world of Uniqlo from where I buy my uniform- shorts- but I only buy them when they're on promo. I was willing to make paiwan in Makati to spend more time but she had another get-together to go to so it was adieu for us. Well, my feet were also already killing me so I guess blessing in disguise.

The day of reckoning~ birthday greetings from autobots. Harhar
This sort-of personalized birthday Google homepage is so cool!
But of course, there's also one from Facebook. Papatalo ba siya?
And one from my alma mater, quoting Dr. Seuss
And of course a few greetings from friends on Facebook and through text. This year, I got plenty of bags for gifts. Birthday money from AB. Shirts from AD. Fudamchi from AC. The kids made me birthday cards~

So cute! Joaquim even gave me three stuffed toys/keychains which are actually his. That boy is so sweet and I hope he stays that way forever.

And this I got from daddy- DINUGUAN!

Well, technically, it was from daddy but since he's sick, manang was the one who made it and the timpla just wasn't the same. It wasn't "anemic," like daddy's recipe. But it was delicious pa rin. I didn't want to share it with the guests nga eh, haha! But oh well, I have to share the calories.

And oh, I bought my own birthday cake. Pathetic ba? Haha.

Default birthday cake from Becky's Kitchen- Swiss Chocolate Cake. I knew I'd be able to use that aqua sprinkles I bought from Chefs and Bakers. Just look at my cake- so pretty ♥

So yeah, I pretty much enjoyed my 32nd birthday with lotsa food and great company. It was also our first time to see Michelle again after her cancer came back. I missed her and our bonding over Korean dramas and baduy Tagalog romcoms and last Saturday we had a nice time catching up on our Korean series.

But wait.. there's more! A day is never enough to celebrate my birthday. I need a month. Haha. So will be divi-tripping on Monday to buy supplies and I think I know what I'm buying with the birthday money AB gave me- an external hard drive! ☺

Gaaaahd I really feel time is running out and I'm wasting too much time but then again I don't know what's important in this life. Do I put importance on my happiness by being more carefree and less worrisome with regard to my finances and "career," or work like crazy towards my goal of being a landlady of leisure? Decisions, decisions... Well, siguro I could say that my birthday gift to myself is that Sunlife life insurance investment. Frakkin grown-up concerns.

So here's to the start of my 32nd year and here's hoping I see either New York City or Korea before I turn 33.
