Happy Birthday Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Lola Christmas!

You make me vomit. Blech.

I'm trying so hard to do this positive thinking and attracting the good thing but it seems that it isn't working. Or maybe I have to try harder. Much. Much. Harder.

I'm frickin' pissed off. It seems that there's always this never ending streak of problems. I am so full to brim with these people.

Nakakainis!

Nako, I'm succumbing to my negativity again. Good vibes! Good vibes! Release the good! Haha, Little Nicky ba 'to?

Although due to experience, these people are all the same, I know I can find some people who aren't like that, who are truly concerned about their job and not just what you give them. You give them so much more than what is due them and still they ask for more. Ano sila sinuswerte? That's why I'd rather dabble on business I can do myself- para walang sakit ng ulo. I guess I have to start looking for new people, better people.

Can't I just live in frickin' peace? Hay.

Feliz Año Nuevo and Resolutions

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO A TODOS!
I can't bloody believe that it's already 2008! Seems as if 2007 just whizzed by.

I was planning to do a year-ender post but we were busy preparing for our New Year's celebration and so I wasn't able to make one. I haven't even come up with my resolutions for this year. However, I just came across this newsletter from one of those websites I subscribe to and I liked how she did her year-in-review and resolutions for the coming year. Ergo,

I would like to be able to tell you that in the past year I...
* lost 30 lbs.
* successfully lessened my soda intake
* generated an ROI for our business
* finished reading El Zahir
* traveled outside of the country
* earned my first million
* was more hands on with the business
* spent less time on the net

Instead, I have to tell you that in the past year I...
* haven't lost a single pound
* still drink Coke almost everyday
* still haven't generated ROI
* have tried reading El Zahir but wasn't successful
* traveled outside the city limits
* was too lazy to go be hands on with the business (esp. because I have to deal with them)
* am still struggling with my Spanish tenses
* rekindled my want for Lucky and Teen Vogue magazines
* am addicted to the net more than ever, esp. now that there's Facebook

However, in the past year I also...
* started this new business and it is starting to do good
* made the decision to be happy
* read more books than the year before that
* have discovered Gossip Girl
* met a cousin for the first time
* read about the secret

In the next year, I am hoping to...
* be more hardworking
* lose 30 lbs.
* make both businesses make LOTS of money, gimme my ROI!
* reconnect with friends I haven't seen for a long time
* travel to Thailand
* go on a scholarship to Spain (Salamanca, here I come!)
* speak impeccable Spanish
* visit my other cousins living abroad
* read a book every week
* find better employees (skills and personality-wise)
* complete the Harry Potter, Gossip Girl, It Girl and Shopaholic books series ( I know, all are ditzy books)
* see the Eiffel Tower
* be able to drive
* "accept myself, forgive myself, and get back up whenever I fall down," as quoted from Rozanne Paxman

The new year brings me hope since I often view the new year as a start, a clean slate. I often see the new year as an opportunity to start something. But the new year also makes me anxious... since I'd be a year older and would have to face real responsibilities (even if not now, eventually... yikes!)

I just wish that this year will be THE YEAR for me. I wish myself prosperity and all the good things in life! Of course, the same wish goes to everyone important in my life.

Happy New Year!

Free concert

Lapit na 2008!

My sisters and I watched Regine Velasquez perform at Eastwood last night. I'm not really a Regine fan but given her singing prowess, I wanted to witness her perform live! Supposedly, it's free but since you have to buy food, it still cost something.

I used to not like Regine Velasquez but watching her perform live has turned me into an instant fan. Not naman die-hard. Let's just say that before I used to think she was over-rated, etc. but now I think she deserves all the praises she receives. She's pudgy in real life. Well, she is pudgy on TV too but I thought TV adds 10 lbs. to the real weight. In her case, it seems that wysiwyg. At ang skin... to die for! I am so envious of her skin. Parang mapapapunta ako Belo niyan... 'pag may pera ako. Haha!

After the mini-concert, there was a fireworks display. It was so nice. At last, I was able to witness again Eastwood's fireworks display. The last time I did was, I think, when I was still in college. We live fairly near Eastwood, near enough to witness their fireworks display from our house. Well, that was before our neighbor decided to construct a 3-storey building! Kainis. As in it blocked our view! So every night when Eastwood has its fireworks display, it irks me that I can hear the sound but can't see anything. Every time, I peek outside the window hoping that I could get a glimpse but all I see is that frickin' edifice. I don't ever think someone occupies that building. I think it wasn't made to be occupied. It was made to show people how much money he has. Or maybe not. Pero bad trip pa rin. Che!

Hmph! That edifice ruining my good vibes...

She's no fun

Okay na sana araw ko eh.

WET BLANKET! Che!

Great Divi Adventure

Christmas and I went on a Great Divi Adventure yesterday, with matching kumunoy (quicksand) pa.

The plan was hatched the night before yesterday when former classmates invited us to a lunch date at Trinoma. And since I didn't know of any excuse to go on a lakwatsa again, I "squeezed" in a Divi trip before the schedule get-together, which is perfect since I really had to buy those stuff. I thought going to divi after the Christmas rush would be okay since everyone's supposedly done with their shopping, etc. Boy was I ever wrong! The great multitude had the same idea and so they too were there in divi, shopping for round fruits and firecrackers for New Year's. And to make matters worse, it just drizzled so the normally dirty and muddy streets of divi have turned into even dirtier and muddier puddles of mud! As in I was wearing sandals pa! Talino! I was even hit by this gigantic box on the head! As in masakit siya! But what do I expect? Divisoria's usually cramped and dirty and chaotic on ordinary times, what more during this season? I just feel sorry that I dragged Lola Xmas on this. Lo siento, abuela!

After breaking free from all the pushing and pulling, it's time for Wai Ying, the place to be. As we are already near the church, Lola Xmas and I decided to walk all the way to Wai Ying. But suddenly Mother Nature decided it's time for a shower. I don't have an umbrella with me and Christmas has this small one which is not even hers. And this made us decide to just take a pedicab going to our destination which is a good idea dahil malapit na maputol kamay ko sa bigat ng dala ko. Given the situation, taking a pedicab would be the best idea pero good lang siya kasi hindi linagay ni Manong Pedicab ang trapal niya! So my left leg was drenched and so was Christmas' right leg. Nagmistula kaming mga basang sisiw.. hmmm.. wrong animal ata. Haha! Basta, the redeeming factor na lang was the MSG-laden Chinese food. Yummy!

In spite of the "quicksand," the wild crowd, the rain and the heavy load I was toting around, I say it went well. Aside from being able to accomplish some errands, I was able to buy 2 dresses for myself- isang pangbinyag ko at isang pang-everyday dress. Both dresses were able to satisfy the only criterion- that I could wear it with tights. I was happy with my purchase only I think I was a little impulsive when I bought the white, lacy dress because it was too big and too short for me. It has yet to be altered to fit me nicely and not look like a table cloth on me. Pero happy na rin. Although I still want that white eyelet dress Blair wore on the Wild Brunch episode.

The lunch date was canceled for no apparent reason. Maybe they just didn't feel like going all of a sudden. Pero sobrang okay lang kasi tinamad na rin kami. Plus, putikan na kami! But Christmas and I still went to Trinoma for coffee. Siempre may kapihan naman sa Binondo, gusto lang talaga naming ikutin ang Maynila. The coffee was the final event of our Great Adventure. The journey home was a breeze since traffic's light and I didn't have to wait in line for hours to get home.

I got Happy Duck from Christmas and she got lip balm from me... AGAIN! Now, Happy Duck doesn't serve her original purpose which is to be a wrist rest. She is now happily working as a paper weight to keep my notebook's page from turning.

Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas!

This wasn't the most cheery Christmas I've had. It was a boring one actually. Fewer gifts to open and fewer food choices. The family didn't feel the need to prepare much food since we knew we were going to have early dinner at an aunt's house. Next year, I don't want to go there for early dinner since it makes everything for our family alanganin. We can't prepare a decent midnight feast for ourselves since we were in another person's home. Three years ago, we had our own well-planned, well thought of Christmas celebration and I want that back. Next year, I plan on taking charge of everything- from revamping the tree to planning the noche buena feast. I am making next year's Christmas extra special.

I, surprisingly, received the most gifts. I who didn't buy anyone anything (although I intend to). And I loved everything I received. Now I just want to reorganize my priorities and make things work for me. Since Christmas is already here and will be gone tomorrow, I guess I have to start concocting my new year resolutions or better put, my to-do list for the year 2008.

What disappointed me, aside from the less than stellar and exciting Christmas celebration, was that I didn't get to wear tights. I must have gained some weight since the dress that I originally intended to wear with the tights has gotten too short. So that was a bummer since I had that wardrobe in mind since October. 'Di rin excited, 'no? But that good thing is... Ate Bam gave me a pretty, pretty dress that I could pair up with my tights and so I could live up my Gossip Girl fantasy, style-wise. Speaking of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively is the cover of Lucky for January 2008. Normally, I only have access to back issues but yesterday I got to read the current issue. Thanks to Java Man. Hmm... I don't even know if I got the cafe's name right. Basta it's that café inside Powerbooks in Greenbelt. Going back to GG-style... I actually prefer Blair's wardrobe to Serena's. Especially that white eyelet dress.

Again, a very Merry Christmas to all my family and friends (even if only 3 of my friends do actually know that I have a blog).

I wish for all my wishes to come true. I wish for more money, a honey (harhar) and, oh, world peace.
