Update Time!

I'm so tamad to blog these days. Notice how my posts are getting fewer and fewer over the years. I blame it on real life happening, book-reading, Candy Crush, Farm Heroes Saga and occasional projects/orders. It's almost the end of another month and I'm only on to my second post. I like updating this blog not for anything else (or for anyone) but me because I like back-reading and reminisce about yesteryears. Of course I could do this on a physical journal but I can't post pictures and videos there, right? So anyway, what have I been up to this month? Here's a quick recap ☺
♠
Watching the Sarah G album launch in Trinoma with A. I dunno if I had owned up to it in this blog but just in case hindi pa, I just want to say that I am a Sarah G fan. Haha! I dunno how or when it started (pre- or post- nose job?) but I love watching her movies or on TV. I was actually sad that they canceled Sarah G Live.

A and I went all the way to Trinoma just to watch her sing live which I think isn't entirely live. In AB's terms, Sarah sang Plus-1 style. But I still adore her, I'm still a fan. I haven't seen her yet in concert but A promised that in the event that there is, she'll see it with me. Hihi :P

♠ Last minute bazaars. It was a risky move but I just wanted to test the waters. In fair naman to me, I was able to recover rent expenses. I just hope that I'll be able to get bulk orders for Christmas from the three-day event. I therefore conclude that I need volume sales to be able to ROI on my puhunan which means I need to carefully select what bazaars to join and when's the best time to join. For now, I'm just joining for exposure. I think I need to put myself out there more.

♠ The Client List. I started watching this J Love Hewitt series because of the hunky men. Gahd, the Parks brothers are friggin' hot. The other one is from the Something Borrowed movie but I think that this dude right here → is hotter ;) So I find out he's engaged (?) to Jennifer Love and they're expecting! Cute. So anyway, at first I thought The Client List was entertaining with bonus cute guys but I stopped watching when Georgia, the spa owner, gave Riley (J Love's character) the reins to the spa after only a few months working there, even if there were employees who had tenure AND are also capable of management duties (Jolene!), just because of a uniform design idea. WHUT? And oh, now she's thisclose to owning the spa (from where I left off). Agad-agad?

♠ And on other news... Suits is back! I looove Harvey. Harvey used to remind me of George Tucker (Hart of Dixie) back when George was still lean and fit and I used to love George. Until he fell for Tansy, which is not a bad thing, it's just I wanted him to be with Zoe. Anyhoo, George became a little chubby when he was with Tansy and somehow he's not hot with a little chub. So feeling ko ang payat ko, no? But I am not on TV, ya? There's a new Suits episode tomorrow and I'm so excited! If during the first two seasons we sense that there's some kind of chemistry going on between Harvey and Donna, but Donna says that it's never going to happen... well, it already happened. So I guess here is another will they or won't they couple and I am watching for that ;)

♠ Speaking of my beloved TV series... Well, it's actually a bit sad that Gossip Girl won't be returning this Fall. It used to be my most-awaited series but I must admit that it sort of went downhill after the third season and I blame it on Dan Humphrey's hair. Another series that won't comeback for another season is Bunheads, which  may have saddened me at first but I quickly got over it (unlike with Chuck and Emily Owens MD).
This season, I am most excited with How I Met Your Mother's (Sept 23) last season and Hart of Dixie (Oct 7). Other series I'm also on the stand-by for are New Girl (Sep 17), 2 Broke Girls (Sep 23), Elementary (Sep 26), the continuation of Awkward's third season (Oct 22) and The Carrie Diaries (Oct 25). I wanna watch The Mentalist and Dexter but I have been left so behind and it'll be a Herculean task (in other words, mukhang hindi kakayanin ng internet ko) to download all of the seasons I haven't watched yet. I'm only on the fourth season with The Mentalist and third with Dexter. I actually have given up on Dexter but when I found out that Julia Stiles is in Season 6 then Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah Walker!!) is in Season 7, I knew I had to watch it. Exciiiited ☺

♠ Linkin Park concert! Huzzah! Juno and I watched Linkin Park live in concert at the SM MOA Arena last August 13. Actually, I watched the concert for free, c/o Juningning as an advanced birthday gift. Sabi ko sa kanya, best birthday gift unless someone gives me a house and lot for my birthday. Haha!

Actually, medyo na-endanger ang plano dahil may bagyo and Juno had to take a ferry ride to Manila and I wouldn't want to impose if it meant risking their safety. Kinontrata ko na nga si AC na kung hindi makakaluwas si J, samahan niya na lang ako even if it meant not enjoying the concert as much. It's different watching with a co-fan, diba? I also withheld texting her for an update the night before and even in the morning of the concert for fear of unfavorable news. I think I texted her around 12 noon asking if we're tuloy. As per J, "tuloy na tuloy!" Yahoo!

We actually had the opportunity of being upgraded to better seats but we opted to stay where we were. I think there were only less than ten people in our area which we liked because it meant more room for us. I wouldn't buy binoculars because they're just added, unnecessary expense. I do not need perfect view of Chester and Mike's fezlaks to be able to enjoy the concert. It was marvelous! ¡Tan maravillosa! So here are some images from the concert, taken by my kick-ass 3.2MP phone camera

Super fun, I tell you. It was just a little embarrassing that I wasn't able to 'review' their more recent music since I had that sort of impromptu bazaar. What I memorize by heart is their first ever album which were sort of our group's anthem, haha! One Step Closer is dedicated to our bwiset Negproc professor who made third year, second sem a living hell for us. I claim Papercut as mine because, well, I am paranoid. Haha.

Thanks, Lola Juns! Best birthday gift ☺

♠ Museo Pambata with the kids. I remember going to Museo Pambata as a kid myself and from what I remember, I knew I enjoyed the experience. My most vivid memory of the place was going inside the big mouth. Now, my nephews also had the same experience. They got to explore different toys, they were able to "drive" a firetruck and ride the tranvia.

Before the museum exploration, there was a program during the puppet show. There were other kids much older than my nephews. The puppet host would ask the kids where in the map a certain ASEAN member country is and kids would raise their hands, if chosen and the correct answer's given, they'd receive a prize- a keychain. I'm sure my 2-year and 3-year old nephews do not have any idea what Indonesia is, much less it's location on the map so imagine my horror when they were both raising their hands to volunteer. They were coached the right answer I guess, haha! Pero kahit na, ang galing galing pa rin nila!!

♠ That Winter the Wind Blows. OMG, Jo In-sung! I super miss my Korean actors circa early 2000s and I am so happy they're re-emerging again into the scene. Seriously, I am not a fan of metrosexual men with long hair and eyeliners.

Oppa material talaga haha! I prefer him than this any frickin' time.

Back to the drama~ it was a heavy one. Oh-soo (Jo In-sung) finds the perfect way to pay his gambling debt by pretending to be PL Group's heir, Oh-Young's (Song Hye-gyo) long-lost brother. Of course we, the audience, already knew what the fake brother-sister relationship would lead to and unlike Endless Love (Autumn in My Heart), I do not find it icky because they're not real siblings and they didn't grow up thinking they were brother and sister to each other like what happened in Endless Love. Or maybe I'm just justifying it because I think I still got a little squeamish on some scenes like when they were baking- Oh Soo knew but Oh-Young didn't. But the 'chancing' came from Oh-Soo and not from Young so I guess that makes it not too icky?

both are beeyotiful
We also knew that Oh-Young would eventually find out and she wouldn't be happy about it. I really thought this one would have a sad ending. It almost did.

♠ Another almost-Ondoy happening. Fortunately for us (unfortunately, for those in the South like Cavite and Laguna), the rain wasn't concentrated in this part of the metro. If it were, for sure it's a repeat of the dreaded Ondoy. All these climate change shizz is scary because it is happening and each flooding is worse than the last. I do hope we can resolve this one. Kawawa naman ang next generation.

So there, an update of how I spent the month of August. Got to finish two books but those get their own posts.

Hopeful.

Juno, Ycel and I watched Vantage Point last Saturday at Gateway. Ycel pointed out that that was the first time that we watched movie or did anything in another mall other than Robinsons Ermita. Going to Gateway has its own share of pros and cons. Number one pro is the cinemas! Robinsons Ermita charges P130 for a movie while Gateway charges P141. And the disparity between the two cinemas is soooo huge! RP cinemas smell like your lola's baul and cinema seats aren't comfortable. While Gateway cinemas smell like popcorn and seats are cushiony-soft. But what I like about RP is its hugeness, most especially now that they have opened their new wing. In Gateway, you can finish going around the mall in mere minutes! So after the movie, we must have went around the mall at least four times... walang magawang iba. Ycel treated us to lunch since it is her birthday today... Happy Birhday Lola! Maraming salamat sa pakain. Hehe.

And now about the movie... Vantage Point.
Ever since I saw the movie's trailer, I already wanted to watch it. I originally planned to watch the movie alone like what I did with 27 Dresses. Good thing was instead of watching it alone, I got to watch it with my friends.

The movie was good. I enjoyed it but it left Ycel obsessing about the movie and its inconsistencies. Perosnally, I think the movie could have been better had they done without the "rewinding" effect. Medyo makulit kasi. Juno even joked that they were going to show what happened from different vantage points of all the people in the plaza. Parusa... I also kind of predicted the twist. Masakit lang tanggapin na si Matthew Fox ang traidor... gwapo pa naman. What I also liked about it was that it was set in Spain. And I still have to read the subtitles... pathetic, for someone who's supposed to be in nivel 18 of the spanish language course.

After our movie date, I had to go to Shangri-La Mall to watch the Wadaiko Drums of Japan. It was good but it was also boring. As in towards the end of the event, my eyelids were getting heavier. When the event ended, we thought we would be able to go home and sleep but there were some change of plans and we ended up spending 3 more hours...

Waiting for our sister to finish doing what she had to do, we hung out at Starbucks and had coffee. But coffee doesn't actually make me any less sleepier. We must have waited for an hour and half at Starbucks when my cousin asked if we could go somewhere where he could have some beer. The nearest bar in the area is Watering Hole. Turned out a show band will be performing that night. If the P100 entrance fee wasn't consummable, I'd say give back our money. The band wasn't worth my hundred bucks. First, they weren't presentable. The lead male singer looks like the Nathaniel character of the movie Enchanted. The lead female singer looked like Geneva Cruz but way, way worse. She was wearing band-aid mico-mini skirt and the female back-up was wearing uber short-shorts... okay na sana only they weren't toned enough to get away with it. Oh please... cellulite-galore! I know I ain't perfect... I have cellulites, stretch marks, etc, but I don't go wearing short skirts and shorts for all the world to see.

So medyo na-entertain naman kami. Haha!

Napasubo ako...

The Cooperación Prensa de Cadíz (I think..) is looking for their new becarios. My classmates and I signed up for it. And so we showed up today for the briefing chorva. Mierda! Hindi kinaya ng powers ko... Nanliit ako bigla. Nosebleed na the entire morning. As in, I couldn't absorb anything. I don't think I'm ready for anything like this and earlier today, I decided to back out. But James and Kosh goaded me to go on... kung hindi man matanggap, at least I tried and certificate din 'yun. Kosh said that it was my pride that was making me back out. She has a point. I think I withdrew from law school because of pride (among other things). So now I won't back out... but I'm so so so scared of this undertaking.

I just hope that I'll get through this alive... I just have to attend tomorrow until Friday and the culminating event will be on Saturday. Sana lang hindi ako panghinaan ng loob.. Aja Aja! Fighting!

And so I have to go now and do my assignment for tomorrow. I have to do this well or else nakakahiya...

Curbing weekend blues

I've been a good guard dog and I've been to my place of business for 4 consecutive days. Things were getting a little disorganized and I feel that I have to grace them with my presence more often. Plus, I have to closely monitor the new competition.

I, naturally, am a tense person and business is not doing me good. I've become more high-strung than ever. Now, I abhor my cellphone and I hate getting text messages and calls. If only I could do without a cellphone...

And now, on to happy stuff...

I'm now in level 18 in my Spanish course. That's nivel avanzado and I can't bloody believe it! Well, I guess my teachers would find it harder to believe when I start to speak in my still very much flawed Spanish. But the good thing is that we have a new teacher- a real teacher! Only he's too stiff and strict and he doesn't smile, not even a smirk. It must have something to do with him being half-German, Nazi-ish. But I'd rather have a teacher like that than a teacher whose chika but doesn't really impart any knowledge. Nazi actually reminds me of Luis but Luis is more chika. Anyway, I am really excited to go to school on Saturday cos it means I'm going to learn something new! weeee...

After Spanish class, Juno and I went to RP to watch 27 Dresses. Ycel confirmed that she was going but then she had to cancel since she has just came home from work at 5am and had to have some shut-eye first. The movie was scheduled at 4 pm so we ate lunch first at Sbarro, where we bumped into Dani. Dani was with a classmate so we didn't really have time to catch up. During lunch, I pestered Juno with my business-related angst. I've never experienced this much pent-up angst, irritation and frustration combined. Before it was just frustration and angst... but now there's irritation and also the urge to kill someone! Arghhhhh!!!

Thank you Juniper for going with me to watch 27 Dresses. Thanks for listening to me rant and fume about the things (and people) that are currently driving me nuts. Thanks for lending me your Shopaholic books. Next time, we decide to watch a movie, 'wag na sa RP. Imagine, paying P130 to watch a movie in a baul-smelling cinema with flat, de-cushioned seats. Not good.

I'm slipping back into my gloomy days and I have to stop myself from doing so. Hence, the happy books. And happy movie.

Lola Juno's Bonggacious Homecoming

I'm back!

I spent the long holiday at Juno's hometown, Calapan in Oriental Mindoro. I consider it my first time to set foot on the island although technically, it wasn't. Two years ago, we took a RO-RO bus going to Boracay via Mindoro.

We left Thursday when Manila was currently in a turmoil. The ride going to Mindoro didn't go as I expect. I thought we would be sailing on rough seas since the weather wasn't really great and it was drizzling now and then, but surprisingly, the seas were calm. What (semi) freaked me out was that I can't see anything! We were sailing through that body of water at night so there wasn't any land in sight.

Juno's "mansyon" is a mansyon indeed! Lola, haciendera pala ang beauty mo! Haha! Juno and I spent those 3 days cooped inside her room, watching Gossip Girl episodes and playing Prime Suspects and Candy Cruncher on her laptop. So when my parents and sisters will ask me what I did in Mindoro, my answer is, "Naglaro ng games sa computer at kumain." Haha! I had fun since basically that is my idea of fun. Hopefully, next time, everyone can come.

And now I'm back here in Manila. In my room I share with my three sisters. A far cry from Juno's spacious room that no one sleeps in. I missed my pc. I missed checking my emails. I missed petting and feeding my fluffy friend. I'm still swamped with my to-do's but I am not really in a condition to accomplish anything. Maybe later I'll be cooking some balms. I'm now eating KFC chicken for lunch/dinner but I don't feel like eating.

Speaking of KFC chicken... I think I have reached my saturation point for KFC's chicken. Lately, I've been eating a lot of fastfood that I have reached my saturation point for Jollibee's and McDonald's chicken, spaghetti and burger. After deciding that I can't eat more of those, I decided to switch to KFC, but now it seems that I've eaten too much of those too.

I spent 4 days at Juno's but I don't have any pictures to prove it except one pic which was taken by Juno's dad. Most of the pictures I took were of Juno's room and the scenery during our trip back home. And oh, I saw dolphins! But does it really count if the only thing I saw of them were their dorsal fins?

Pictures taken during the 2-hour boat ride back to Batangas port. The clouds prove how schizophrenic the weather was.

A week has passed and my PC is still not working. Bummer. I'm bringing it to my cousin already. I think a pro has to do it or I might break it even further.

Haaay... I'm so pissed off these days. I'm just glad that it'll be the Holy Week soon. That means no work for 4 glorious days! Alleluia! But first, I want to rant about the effy stuff that happened this past week. First, I hate it that they're relocating the office kitchen downstairs due to some OC person's ka-OC-han. I am not pissed at the idea that they're relocating it. I'm pissed off because we're relocating it for this one person. We're paying for most of the rent anyway so why does she get to decide where the office kitchen should be? Primadonna. Second, I just hate meetings. I guess I have to put up my own business quick cos of my aversion to formalities. I hate meetings. I hate meetings. I hate meetings.

I'm just glad that I have the bestest friends ever. Even though work has been shitty, I have my friends to make me feel better. I hung out with my BFFs for the weekend.

Friday night with Armida. Initial plan: tambay sa bahay. Then we changed our minds. We went to Shangri-la instead. After eating, we can't think of anythign else to do and we still have 4 more hours to go. Ayun, inikot namin ang buong Shangri-la.

Saturday, Juno and I went to Divisoria (suki) to eat at Wai Ying and to buy more Korean series and movies. It was scorching hot and I was also carrying this super heavy bag since I was sleeping over at Juno's . Plus, I borrowed Juno's HS yearbook and so I was carrying it with me the entire time we were scouring the streets of Divi. Happy din cos I already have the 2nd half of Goong. Kinikilig na ako! We were supposed to have a movie/series marathon of the titles we bought but we ended up watching none because I slept early. Well, we were actually watching Spanglish but halfway thru the movie, I fell asleep. But you see, I was having a terrible headache that time. Sorry Juno kasi tinulugan kita hehe. Next time uli, with the rest of the gang.

The sleepover at Juno brought back memories~ with some I'd rather forget. She asked me to bring the dreaded Conversation Notebooks. Grabe! Black mail material. I can't bloody believe that I wrote those things. Sappy. Mushy. Baduy. Parang galing sa movie ni Sharon Cuneta circa 1980s. Eeeew. I would never again profess undying love on paper. Kadiri to death. Anyway, I miss our T-parties. Once you pop, you can't stop. Mabuhay ang sabog, mabuhay si Juno.
