Lola X. Me. Divi.

Because November and December were spent for work, January is sort of my self-declared "holiday" and this is when I meet up with most of my friends. The past years, January was my guilt-free just-sloth-it month which I think I deserve after the CRAAAAAZY holiday rush (uuy, defensive LOL), but this year I'm only giving myself a week of lethargic bliss- gotta keep the momentum rolling.

Anywaaaay. Went out with A last Monday night. We originally planned to meet 29th of January, before the New Year, but she said she had to work. So we just settled with an after-work dinner. Because I'm a morning person, I was too lazy to get off my lazy arse and go to Eastwood. Buti na lang mabait pa si Nonoy at game pang manghatid na hindi kinakailangan ng pilitan.

We settled for Cibo since I haven't eaten there yet. I've had high expectations with this resto because I've heard a lot of people rave about their food (A, included) and they're pretty expensive for pasta dishes. But it's the New Year and it's the season for trying out new things, ergo...

overpriced. imho.

I'm sorry to all Cibo fans, but I was disappointed. In fair naman to the soup, it was delicious. That pasta- so saaaad. At that price, sana the slab bacon were visible to the naked eye. Of course, exaggeration na yan but you get my point- the slab bacon was almost nonexistent. I ordered that dish specifically because was craving for meat at the time and the menu said the pasta had slab bacon. Consuelo de bobo na masarap ang bread.

Tuesday was spent with Lola X who was home from Singapore. We actually already met Saturday afternoon and she already treated me to pizza and chicken in Amici. But Lola X wanted the Wai Ying experience again so to Binondo we went.

Introducing...
LUNCH!!!
Umm.. it may not be aesthetically appealing but they're muy muy muy delicioso (thanks to MSG, I think) but still my ♥ belongs to Wai Ying. I've tried so many lemon chicken dishes from other Chinese restaurants but Wai Ying's is the still the best- hands down.

pretty shrimp dumplings

siomai ♥
A little office supplies shopping in Nueva. Because my scotch tape dispenser got broken over the holidays- care of ze nephews- I needed a new one ASAP. I bought a big one for only P55. FIFTY FRICKIN' FIVE PESOS! At first I couldn't believe what I heard. Big, heavy-duty tape dispensers go for a two hundred or more. Happy na ako sa purchase ko- yup, I'm mababaw like dut.

Coffee and chocolate crepe cake for merienda then off to 168 and 999 malls for a little clutter-shopping. I bought two shirts for only 150 each- bonggels! Then we decided to part ways- NOT. Haha! Lola X suggested why don't we have dinner as well. So to Gateway we went. Dinner at Kogi Bulgogi. We ordered that lettuce wrap thingy you see in Korean dramas. And jap chae, of course.

free side dishes

yummeeeee!

Super solved! Because the other members of VAX2J were not present, I was the sole beneficiary of Lola X's Busog Lusog Feeding Program. The tummy was happy, but I think my liver wasn't. Haha. Super thanks to Lola X for feeding the hungry THRICE! I may not be proud of how much I ate but I am proud that I never had Coke with these meals. Cola-free for seven days ☺

Had a super fun and not to mention bochog, catch-up day with Lola X. We parted ways around 10pm- just in time for the last Santolan-bound train. My feet were tired and aching and the Noom Walk app on my phone recorded a new high- 16,493 steps! (But today's count is 0 so wala quits na haha).

OH MY SOOOO MUCH FOOOOOD! AND THE WORST PART IS.... I WANT MORE  (`(●●) ´)

Christmas shopping

Christmas accompanied me yesterday in my "market research." We spent around an hour in the area observing and fishing information from the people who work there. I don't know if I should believe them. AD said I should go back and observe another period of the day, say around 6pm. So, I am going back this afternoon to observe... again. Sh*t, I should've done this too yesterday when I was already in the area~

Anyway, Christmas and I just strolled in Megamall for hours. Although we didn't realize that our feet were hurting like hell until we stopped walking. Hehe. I accompanied her buy her wardrobe for her friend's wedding on the 16th. Several hours and shops later, she finally decided on this purple dress from Promod. And bought a pair of beige sandals to go with it.

Then we called it a day... or night ;)

Huli man daw at magaling, si Juno makakahabol din :P

Currently enjoying doing nothing and babbling about nothing and everything, trying to compose a coherent blog entry. Trying is the operative word because I don't think I'll be able to write down my thoughts cohesively.

After class, met up with Juno and the Gang for an old school T-party session (we missed you, Ycel). Aissa, Christmas and I were first to arrive at the meeting place. Then Jo. Juno, as I predicted, was last to arrive :P

The birthday girls, Christmas, Juno and Jo, treated Aissa and I to pizza pasta at Brooklyn Pizza. Takaw-mata! We ordered one cream-based pasta, one tomato-based pasta, buffalo wings and one whole pizza. I think we were there for two whole hours and we didn't even finish everything. We were too full that we can't even manage to finish the tiniest portion of pasta left on the plate. Another culprit was the bottomless iced tea. Even after 8 hours after eating, I still feel full. This means, no pizza and pasta for me tomorrow.

Of course, we did what's natural for us to do on T-parties~ to "t." Nuff said. For our safety, I refuse to entrar en pormenores. All I can say is T-parties are fun and "Once you pop, you can't stop." I wish there'll be a repeat soon... like on May-15-soon.

ociosera

I woke up today thinking it was Friday. Mali. Saturday na pala. At may class ako.

As usual, I was late for my 9am class. I know I must come to class on time most especially that we learn a lot in class nowadays. Plus, I miss a lot when I come in late. Around 9-ish, I was at the LRT- Pureza station, Jaime called asking where I am. Apparently, our seatwork last meeting was with me so they couldn't start without me. Pressure.

In class, I was asked to translate a poem~ IMPROMPTU, ORALLY! Schiiit. I was not prepared for that. AT. ALL. I was struggling to find the right words. In Spanish. Medyo lang my Spanish vocabulary is so basic, 'no!?! How the hell would I know how to translate this:

THE DAY IS GONE
The day is gone, and all its sweets are gone!
sweet voice, sweet lips, soft hand and softer breast,
warm breath, ligh whisper, tender and semi-tone,
bright eyes, accomplish'd shape, and lang'rous waist!
Fadet the flower and all its budded charms,
faded the sight of beauty from my eyes,
faded the shape of beauty from my armsm
faded the voice, warmth, whiteness, paradise --
vanished unseasonably at shut of eve,
when the dusk holiday - or holinight
of fragrant-curtain'd love begins to weave
the woof of darkness thick, for hid delight;
but, as I've read love's missal through to-day,
he'll let me sleep, seeing I fast and pray.

Medyo lang diba. I think she chose me on purpose since she noticed I wasn't really paying attention. Instead, I was doodling on my notebook. [Note to self: next saturday, no doodling. Araso?] But my redeeming moment was when I knew how to translate "dusk holiday" into Spanish. Crepusculo. How in the world would I not know that when it is spanish for Twilight.

After class, I met with Jo and Juno for lunch. Where else but in Wai Ying, the place to be. We had our fix of Lemon Chicken, hakao, pork siomai, radish cake and shark's fin. We also ordered hot salad. Jo ordered Honey Baked Ribs. She can't have Lemon Chicken. According to her doctor, she can't eat chicken and beef within 45 days after her operation.

We were seated near the entrance so people walking in see our table on their into the dimsum place. Almost everyone who was passing by our table were stared in disbelief at how much food there was on our table. Naiisip siguro nila ang takaw namin.

After lunch, we had coffee while talking about anything and everything under the sun. And the moon. And the stars. Basta lahat. Name it, we have talked about it. Maybe. Hehe.

Parting is such sweet sorrow. Jo had to go ahead. She and her family have some family get-together to attend, leaving Juno and me. Juno had no choice. Bwahahaha. I love to torment her endlessly about my obsessions and... obsessions. We stayed there a bit, showed her the diagram I made and torment her again about my current obsession. Then we headed home. When I arrived home, I called her at home and tormented her again about my obsession. Na-realize ko... ang kulit ko. Ganun ako ka-obsessed sa tumblr ;)

I have yet to upload and post my pictures for Days 6 and 7 of Project 365. I might be able to post it Monday morning instead. It's 1:34 am already and I'm tooooo lazy and sleepy to transfer and/or upload anything. I'm just excited for tomorrow (which, technically, is now) since I would be treating everyone to lunch at Thai Pad. Tom yum, here I come!

sleep. sleep. sleep.

T-party + Friends

I had a reunion of sorts with my friends. Or those who at least consider me as their friend too now and in the long run. Enough of that and on with the blow-by-blow account of how I spent my Saturday.

As usual, I was late for my Spanish class. I arrived at around 10.30 am, an hour and a half late. Would that be considered as breaking one of my new year resolutions? But I specifically stated that I would not come to class late on purpose. I woke up late and I didn't do that on purpose. I blame it on Manang who didn't wake me up earlier.

After Spanish class, met up with Christmas, the birthday celebrant 3 days ago. I kinda felt guilty since I promised I'd give her a copy of Goong for her birthday and piyaya from Bacolod. I forgot to bring the piyaya and I wasn't able to secure a copy of the series. But there's always a next time... but I have to make it fast before the series concludes on the local channel and give her the piyaya even before someone devours it.

Anyway, Christmas and I watched Griffin & Phoenix. One, hyphenated word: Ho-hum. It wasn't worth my P140. We should've watched Happy Feet or Blood Diamond instead.

The movie ended early leaving us lots of time for chismisan. Nyahahaha! We just waited at the food court area for Juno, Ivy and her friend, Angela. Our okray-power must be waning... I can't believe we ran out of people to okray. Oh well, that may be actually better for us. When all have arrived already, Christmas treated us to a pizza. Juno and I were in heaven since it's stuffed crust pizza. I was able to finish two slices. We sat there for about 3 hours just babbling about anything~ from college crushes to ghosts.

Time came when we had to part ways. Of course, I would have wanted to stay longer and talk about more things but we were hogging the table for a long time already. And it was getting late. I told my mom that I'd be back by 6 pm but I was still in Gateway at 9 pm.

The day was fun. Oh how I wish that I were back in college once again, more carefree and I wasn't thinking too much about the future just yet. Thanks Christmas for the birthday treat! :) Hopefully our next meeting will be a lot sooner and our other meetings will be more frequent.
