monte carlo hangover

A mí me gusta esta pélicula

Did a little googling and found these online:

Realizations:
  1. I love love love Leighton Meester- unconditionally!
  2. Crocs are ugly. Still looks gargantuan and ugly even if it is Leighton wearing it.
  3. It's not all glitz and glamor. Just look at Katie Cassidy's sweat pants under her skirt. It must have been very cold when they shot this.
  4. I want jewel-encrusted sandal flats.
  5. I need to lose frakkin' weight.

slipping

...back to emo mode. Blech. What happened to my happiness shizz? Hay, just allow me to feel the sadness and I'll be up and at 'em by next week. Wala, I'm just bored out of my wits and maybe withdrawal symptoms na rin. Last month I stuffed myself with sugar sugar and more sugar and now that there's no excuse to consume sugar, I'm heading towards crash. And yes it doesn't really help that I'm listening to Home Radio right now, haha! Sappy, senti songs overload. Will wait til 4pm so I could tune the radio back to RX. I really need the sun to shine.

Song for the week- Lenka's Skipalong

And oh, will start healthy lifestyle today. Weight check: 130 lbs. Ayan, sabi kasi sa nabasa ko i-declare ang weight. Anyway, will try to lose 10 lbs before the month ends. Is that even possible? I hope yes.

Inferno

Warning: This is going to be very incoherent. I may not even make sense. I won't even try to make sense.

Hay ang hirap namang maging in a limbo. It's like I know I could do so much more but then again I think I am happy with my life as of the moment but there are still some things missing in my life but come to think of it, I'm so much luckier than most people but then again there are still so much to do and so much to see. Kung hindi mo maintindihan, pareho tayo.

According to a Stacie Orrico song, there's gotta be more to life than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me. Well, that's how I feel. I'm finding it hard to find the perfect balance between contentment and "living life to the fullest." Ah basta, feeling ko ewan. Ewan talaga! I think I must do my vision board na para at least I will be reminded of what I still want to achieve, madali kasing makalimot pag walang visible reminder. Out of sight, out of mind nga naman. Eh bakit... Nevermind. Argh.

halo!

Hey, it's my first July post. Happy July, y'all!

I've been sick with the flu which earned me the nickname Swiney. No, I don't have A(H1N1). It's just the regular, seasonal flu. My sister just wants to call me that. Every time she arrives home she just yells Swineeeeeeeey! at the top of her lungs.

Anyway, I'm still light-headed and can't think straight for the time being and I logged in just to post that today is

Game na talaga. Promise Promise!

I know this must be the nth time I'm saying this in my blog but I just have to say it again- I NEED TO LOSE FRICKIN' 30 LBS FAST! I vowed to lose the extra pounds some 5-6 months ago but it seems that we are at a standstill. Well, I never really tried hard enough but I reckon this time I should drag my lazy arse into doing it.

I have 3 Reasons why I should lose weight:
♥ Of course the cliche, for health reasons. But really, this is one of the reasons. Our family has a history of hypertension, diabetes, etc... the works! Diba?! Plus, there's that PCOS thing too.

♥ I hate the fact that I can't fit into most of my clothes anymore and the fact that it seems I have to suck it all in just so the flab won't show. Dressing up every day is agonizing since nothing fits me anymore. Plus, the extra weight makes me look older than I really am. I reallllly hate it when people think I'm older than my real age.

♥ For AD's wedding. I just saw someone's wedding pics and observed that most of the bride's entourage were, umm, healthy. Most of us are chubby and I kind of don't want a similar picture for my sister's wedding. Ayaw ko. Promise!

So what should I do to lose weight?

♥ Option #1: Cut coke intake, less carbo
Isa pa itong "Promise, nagsasawa na rin ako sa kakasabi." Pero sa init ng panahon, masarap talaga mag-Coke. Though doing this option would really help me lose significant poundage.

♥ Option #2: Exercise
Sounds easy. Hard to pull off. I hope my mommy would give in and buy a treadmill, hehe. Pero imposible yan. Unang-una, mahal ang treadmill. Pangalawa, mas preferred ng mommy ko and passive exercise, ie. ang kanyang massage chair :P

♥ Option #3: Magpaka-anorexic (o bulimic)
This would really make me skinny but I think I love food too much to even consider this option. But really, if it were a matter of life and death, I could resort to this one. And have you seen what bulimics and anorexics look like? They look like walking skeletons and I reckon that is not a pretty sight to see.

♥ Option #4: Tsaa (or Kankunis) to death
Probable. But I've heard that Kankunis (or any tea that has senna leaves) could make your intestines bleed when taken excessively. Black or green tea is also effective but I think faster results can be obtained by Kankunis or Biguerlai. AC brought home black tea from China. Supposedly, it's what Chinese actresses drink to stay slim. If only I could get my lazy ass into getting that cup of hot water or the discipline to drink tea instead of soda. Grrr....

♥ Option #5: Post Nicole Scherzinger's picture/poster where it'll be the first thing I'll see when I wake up in the morning
Or what we'll call, Positive Conditioning. Every morning when I wake up, I'll see Nicole Scherzinger's body and then I'll be motivated to have a body like hers, oh alright... have a body slightly similar to hers. I'm not vying for washboard abs, I just want to have a wittle waist, that's all.

I'm downloading Pussycat Dolls' videos as we speak. Whatever mayjah losah! Haha!

Random Things~ 4.03.09

AB said in one of her FB notes that,
"There is no such thing as random. Everything is truly in its place."
I believe that but for lack of anything else to put on the Title field, put it in there anyway ;)

♥ I like Katy Perry so so so much! I read her tumblr and liked her even more. I'm a fan because: 1) I like her music; 2) I like her fashion sense; and, 3) she's funny~ Did I mention already that she named her cat Kitty Purry? Or that her concert tour is called Hello! Katy. Punny girl, right? I can listen to Thinking of You over and over and over...

♥ Started working on my orders which means no internet (only now) and no TV for the day. Well, maybe a couple of hours of TV when I let my cousin watch Chances Are. But most of the day, I was listening to the radio. Heard David Cook's song a gazillion billion times!

♥ I'm worried about this very, very trivial thing I don't want to expound on.

♥ Supongo que tengo parar viendo los toros desde la barrera, no?

♥ I noticed that I am hungry all the frickin' time! Napapaisip tuloy ako kung may bulate ako sa tiyan. Yuck. Haha.

♥ Wanna watch 90210 and The Mentalist. And I've got a lot of catching up to do with Boys Over Flowers.

♥ Bought Twilight DVD already, whoopee! Watched it yesterday with cousins but I want to watch it again... with the commentary on. I like to listen to RPattz's voice and what he has to say which is usually stuff that don't make a lot of sense.

♥ I'm tried to copy Rachel Bilson's smoky eye effect but what I got was a black eye effect. How on earth do I achieve the look?

♥ I should be sleeping now. I have more important things to do tomorrow. Gah, it's Friday again. Time flies...

weekend blast

Last weekend was nice. Saturday~ AB and I ate lunch at Pizza Hut, watched AVSL then had ice cream at Dairy Queen. What a way to spend a Saturday afternoon~ muy perezoso y llena de comida. Sunday~ we went with our weekly family lunch. We ate at Max's in St. Lucy. There were only four of us since AD was in a retreat and Bokya preferred to be with his boyfriend's family. After lunch, accompanied AB to her friend's son's birthday and after that headed to Gateway for AC's fix of masahe (ng bulag, kelangan sa bulag talaga). Mocha frap heaven. And then spent 2 hours inside National Bookstore.

Lakwatsa. Kain. Lakwatsa. Kain. Perfect way to spend your weekend, right?

Last Saturday, on my way to Gateway... aboard the LRT Purple Line, there were 2 CEU (it says so on their shirt) girls were sitting beside me. Wala namang problema. Until one of them brought out her cellphone and then it started playing hiphop tunes... loudly, for everyone to hear. I mean, no one wants to hear what they're listening to. Don't they have earphones? Por favor! How inconsiderate of them to do that. I was really really tempted to 1) ask her if she doesn't have earphones; 2) tell her, 'Miss, ang ingay ng telepono mo;' 3) leave her a note saying 'hindi lahat ng tao gusto pakinggan ang music mo;' 4) remove my earphones and have my sounds compete with hers. I was really really really tempted to do #4. As in. Good thing I arrived in my destination station already.

Watched AVSL for the second time. AB's treat. She hasn't watched it yet while I was willing to watch it again. I want another serving of those baduy and kilig fest. Ano ba? Kanya-kanya lang, walang pakialamanan. AB didn't like it. She said it was a fan movie. Does that mean I'm a fan? Parang hindi naman. Slight lang. Haha. I just find John Lloyd cute. But AB said abot-kaya naman si John Lloyd, meaning he looks regular. If John Lloyd looks regular, kawawa naman yung iba. Anyway...

While exploring the books in National Bookstore, I found this book of Would you rather's. Super funny. The book is filled with questions that makes you choose between two choices that are equally just as awful. But my favorite was:
Would you rather have Parmesan cheese dandruff
or
bubble-wrap acne?
So what would you rather have?

Another one was
Would you rather name your children after the size of drinks at Starbucks or robots in movies? In this question, a factor to consider was what if Grande grows taller than Venti. Now there's a dilemma.

Funny, diba?

Another thing... my sisters are encouraging me to get a 9 to 5 job. I need a more stable source of income and try other things while I'm still at the "prime of my life." I want to. But I don't know if I can. I don't know if I have what it takes to work in a company wherein I don't have my sister as my boss or me as my boss. I want to try it but my fear of the unknown and aversion to formalities is getting the best of me. While my sisters were bombarding me with pangaral and questions of what I want to do with my life, I was secretly asking God for a sign~ whether I should work a 9 to 5 job or take my business seriously. When I arrived home, turned the PC on and logged on into my email account, I received a private message from a batchmate asking me if I'm interested in applying for a vacancy in their company. Timing! So I'm thinking maybe this was the sign I was asking from God. Maybe it is and so I'm willing to give it a try. Although I'm also having second thoughts since I am not very confident with my Spanish. Ipapasa-Diyos ko na lang. Try ko lang.

Also... I'm happy that I have an order for a wedding on October. Nothing's final yet but I'm hoping na maging okay.

And last but def not the least... I discovered this new series The Secret Life of the American Teenager. I love it! A little shocking for me and my so-called principles. The series is mainly about 15-year old Amy Juergens getting pregnant for experimenting with Ricky (school's bad boy) while at band camp and they're not even in a relationship. Entertaining. But a little disturbing at how young people nowadays are so open to sex and stuff. I mean, at 15 years old... you should be worrying about prom and not about babies. I'm just saying...
Nevertheless I still love and enjoy watching this show. It's only on its first season and I've watched only until its 6th episode (it's only on it's 6th episode). In the absence of GG and Chuck, I've found another time-waster. New episode airs on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning for me) ;)

Random Musings

I came across this verrrry funny video

***
I watch a lot of Disney Channel and so I see the Jonas Brothers very very often. I just don't get it why these boys are sooo popular? Well, I was once a high school girl who used to scream at the top of my lungs for pop stars such as *ahem* Savage Garden (who, later, turned out to be gay). But, the point is... they're not even that cute. So cuteness is in the eye of the beholder but it irks me when I see them on tv every so often belting out that SOS song. I wasn't a fan of Hanson but they're more tolerable. Even if Taylor Hanson was the only cute brother, his cuteness outweighed the very much manufactured cuteness of those Jonas boys.
***
I'm reading Like the Flowing River by Paolo Coelho and am enjoying the book so much. I'm not yet done reading the book but I like it how he injects his thoughts in such simple stories. When I'm done with the book, I'll post here some of his words that have inspired me.

***
Three days ago, I said to myself that I will go on a diet on 23 July 2008. Having watched the movies Made of Honor and The Dark Knight and seeing how thin and lean Michelle Monaghan and Maggie Gyllenhaal were in the movie, I was inspired to go on a diet and adelgazarme. But I think the thought of going on a diet the next day only makes me binge-eat like there's no tomorrow for the next day, I shall diet. And then when the scheduled day arrives, I put off the start-of-diet day for tomorrow then eat again like there's no tomorrow for tomorrow I shall diet, again. So there goes my vicious cycle of diet in my life. Therefore, I think I should stop going on a diet and just moderate my food intake (which is also a challenge for me).

AB introduced me to this new website that allows you to create a Look Book.

I oh-so-love this site since it allows one to play dress-up without the hefty price tag. Plus, it also inspires me to lose weight ;)

Yucky but cute.
How many centipedes are there in the picture?
8, in the picture.
There were more...

And what was she trying to imply?

ABS just announced that the the Pinay Betty La Fea would be Bea Alonzo. Personally, I dislike her but she's a good actress naman, so let's see.

Anyway... I wrote this entry because of what she said during her interview...

"I'm sure maraming Pilipina ang makaka-relate dito."

So ibig niya bang sabihin ay maraming pangit na Pinay?

Hmmm...

Leap of Faith...

It's a Leap Year!

The date today only comes once in 4 years.

Happy happy joy joy! The pre-selección period has ended. I am not expecting to get selected since my Spanish is terrible. Well actually, since day 1 we were not expecting na naman. We just pushed through with the workshop kasi nga certificate din yun. Anyway, we were interviewed after classes to ask us whether or not we have the time and the means (ie. do you have a computer and an internet connection chuva). Although the chances are slim, I hope I get chosen since I meet all the criteria: 1) that I can speak Spanish; 2) that I have a computer; and 3) that I have an internet connection. I don't speak perfect Spanish but I can manage. I think... Ano'ng ginagawa ng elmundo.com, et al? And also, this could be an opportunity for me para mejorar mi español.

I'm scared that I might have ulcer already. If I don't get to eat on time, my stomach hurts. And it's not just your regular hunger pangs cos it feels different. I just hope it's not ulcer. Or maybe I'm getting too acidic cos my excessive soda intake?

Speaking of my soda (aka Coke) intake, I've had a relapse. I quit drinking Coke when I went on a South Beach diet. The diet was short-lived. And so was the promise to not drink soda anymore. I drink coke everyday... again. I have to practice self-discipline before my fats outgrow me and then I'll be one huge mass of lard. I've tried Coke Zero and it doesn't taste like Coke regular, as it claims to be. Surprisingly, Pepsi Max is better. Coke Zero has an after-taste which is akin to the after-taste rootbeer has.

March na! After this month, hello Gossip Girl! I miss GG. I miss Dan. And I miss the pretty clothes. I wonder how they'll pick up from where they left off. That was a perfect season ending~ when what happened to Serena happens to Blair. I liked the twist. Supposedly, in the coming episodes, Chuck will have a new love interest. Oooh.. interesting. I'm so excited to watch new episodes!

I'm thinking, if they resume GG this April, will it be a new season altogether or just a continuation of the first season? If it's a continuation of the first season, when will they air the second season? Cos I kinda liked it when they shoot GG during the autumn season since I like fall fashion- the tights, boots, trench coats, etc. I really really hope that when season 1 ends, they'll air season2 right away. I don't really like lengthy waits.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

I just finished with Day 2 of pretending I know more Spanish than I actually do. I'm really half-hearted as to whether I'll push through with this but I think I will go along if Kosh and James are still up to it. Anyway, it'll be the third day tomorrow and after that just two more days to go and voila... ya esta. Plus, I already put myself to shame in front of my classmates so what could be worse than that? I've lost face already so what else could go wrong? We had an impromptu activity requiring us to speak into the mic. Friends know how much I abhor public speaking, much more impromptu speeches... but it was inevitable, I had to do it. I was asked to deliver a closing spiel on the De Isla En Isla segment and introduce a new one and it was horrible. He should have made us prepare a script first before going into the mic. I know I won't be selected to do this project since my command of the Spanish grammar is horrible. I'm in it for experience since I attended na rin last Monday. I mean, for once I should finish what I started.

I'm not happy with the way I'm spending my money. I used to be frugal and wise in spending. What happened? I want my old self back... I may be stingy but I prefer that than spending my money then feel guilty about it afterwards. I guess it has something to do with feeling down in the dumps. I don't buy expensive stuff... my money is spent on junk food and coffee-bingeing, ballpen-hoarding, etc. I have to avoid National Bookstore and grocery stores...

Speaking of ballpens, I'm somehow OC when it comes to ballpen. Not as of quality, but quantity-wise. My pencil case should always be filled with ballpens even if they're just black and blue pens. But yesterday, I was able to buy me 4 more pens. Ballpen heaven! I bought 4 Stabilo liners (they're meant to be used as liners for readings, etc.) which I'm going to use to design my mini-planner or to write on my journal. And while I was waiting on line, I got myself the new Stabilo exam grade eraser. Oh joy!

***
Once again, I was sucked into the ZTE-NBN Scandal vortex. I was supposed to go to visit the place of business but I got absorbed in all the controversies that were being dished out. Another witness testified that Sec. Neri referred to the president as an evil woman. Patay tayo diyan...

But I do believe that some senators were grandstanding. Oy mga ambisyoso, malayo pa eleksyon! I swore to avoid using the word nakakainis but this time I just have to. And in this investigation, I believe that the senators shouldn't be too obvious as to which side they're on. The senators' judgments were already preempted on whether they were with the administration or the opposition. Obvious naman that they're biased... and I think that that shouldn't be the case... because they should put aside their personal issues with the president, listen to all the statements of the witnesses first, then make their judgments.

And please ha... why were they asking Lozada to narrate as to how corruption works in the government system. As if hindi nila alam. All of them are aware of the 10% SOP commission for every project, actually 20% na daw ngayon. Please, huwag silang magmalinis. Sana tamaan sila ng kidlat... nakakadiri silang lahat.

***
Lastly, I would like to comment lang on Edison Chen's sex scandal...I am not and was not an Edison Chen fan. I just happen to know him because I was once obsessed with HK and Taiwan entertainment (during my F4 days when I used to watch CETV's showbiz program although I can't understand anything!) And he was in one of my favorite movies of all time- Infernal Affairs. Plus, I also think he's cute. So bad boy pala ang lolo mo??? Although the news didn't shock me I still thought he was a good boy because he looked like a good boy. But Juno disagrees with me... mukhang pilyo daw si Edison Chen at hindi gagawa ng tama. Tama nga.

But that was really stupid of him to not get rid of the pictures and videos before having his laptop repaired. Stupid, stupid boy.

But here's what shocked me... one of the girls was Gillian Cheung of the duo Twins. I was really shocked because she really looks angelic and sweet and innocent. Hmmm... Looks can be deceiving talaga. And too bad, this scandal has cost her her happily ever after as her marriage was called off.
Yes, I'm a slut but I'm the best slut in town...
Joke... that was actually a line out of a Tagalog telenovela.

Haaay... kawawa naman sila. To be rich, beautiful and famous... and stupid.

Another day, wasted.

I was slipping into relapse. Today, I was about to go back into one of those sulky days. Well, I kind of did but nothing picks me up like a bottle of Coke and a bbq can. Not totally out of the rut but I'm working on it. As we speak, I'm immersing myself into happy things and happy thoughts.

This self-employment stuff sucks. Take me to where the people are!!! I would like to believe that I am actually a social being therefore I need to interact with other human beings.

And because I have no life I get to think about a gazillion unimportant things... like this~ Rihanna and Neyo's Hate That I Love You is actually the 2008 version of Atlantic Starr's Secret Lovers.

Isip Isip

While watching [Channel V] last night, I saw someone who has an uncanny resemblance al amor de mi vida. The guy really, really, really looks like him~ the specs, the goatee... basta. For a moment there, I would really like to believe that it was him I was seeing on tv. At the risk of sounding really pathetic, I need to say that I need some sort of closure such as he's already married or gay... whatever. Well, the feeling doesn't really haunt me on a daily basis. Let's just say that once in a while, I reminisce about it. For example, yesterday when Juno sent me a sappy, mushy quote... guess who it reminded me of ~ no less than him. So today all my thoughts are of him. This feeling may go away later or tomorrow... uhhh, wait, this might last pala until the end of this month cos it'll be his birthday el 30 dia del agosto which is exactly a week before mine. He'll be 28 by then, 4 years older than I am.

Crap. This feeling's really crappy but I still wish I'd see him just so I could say that I don't like him anymore. The only source of information I have of him is his friendster account and he has taken it down already. So now I am very much clueless as to what he's up to. Friendster's really handy for in-denial stalkers like me. Haha. Anyway, the last thing I knew of him was that he broke up with his Filipina girlfriend (who just happened to be my sister's barkada back in 7th grade... small world, riiiight).

Mortal love is but the licking of honey from thorns.

Then again, was it really love?

Last Sunday, I had the greatest splurge ever.

Beautiful!!!

Anyway, I really enjoy going to work right now cos I so get along with the new recruit. We have this not-so-good habit of snacking on Coke, banana-q and pancit canton every afternoon.

This past week, we've been pooling interviewees. Only a few were interested. Maybe because we're not yet a well-known brand. But it's still work, people.

Well, it was my first time conducting an interview. Honestly, it bored the hell out of me. I was occasionally trying to steal some yawns whenever the applicant looks away. I also can't help but look back on the times when it was me being interviewed. I bet I was one of those who really looked nervous and fidgety with all those hand gestures.

We interviewed people from 18 to 22 years old. They're mostly high school graduates and college drop outs. Initially, I can't help but be empathy towards them with all their sob stories. But then I realized that they're just a bunch of rascals. If you need a job that bad, you'll take anything that comes your way and do it well, right? Sad, puppy dog eyes. I'm not falling for that anymore. If anyone tells me that he has a 1-year-old kid he has to support or their father left them for another woman... I won't frickin' care cos you know what~ it's not my problem.

Hay buhay.

Anyhoo, my classmates and I ate ate lunch together after class. "Inspired" by a classmate's recent break-up, we talked mainly about relationships. We're mostly girls so we complained about how Filipino men are spoiled rotten. As I have no experiences with relationships whatsoever, I am getting paranoid with all the stories. I think I may not want to get into relationships anymore or get married. It might be better to stay single and use my savings for travel when I'm older as opposed to using it for my future kids' tuition. Very tempting, no? This early, I am deciding to spare myself from heartaches and headaches alike. [Update: I changed my mind. I want to have my own family. I want to have kids. - 1/11/08]
