shallow val

Lazy Friday so here's part 2 of my update.

THE BOX IS HERE!
AB's balikbayan box has arrived :) Finally, I have my Teen Vogue and many many other magazines, my bilins and chocolates!

We took pictures of the box and us posing with the box- it is, after all, one of AB's milestones: her very first balikbayan box. I also got the owl doll which I highly suspect is for my nephews but since I am in my I-adore-owls phase right now, I kept it for myself. Hehe. Buti na lang hindi pa ako bumibili ng bagong facial wash. Facial washes have been my addiction ever since and I am always to tempted to buy a new one even if I haven't used up the other ones. I'm trying to save which means no unnecessary expenses and see, good things come to those who wait- L'oreal's Go 360 Clean! Sorry mababaw lang talaga ako.

But of course, in the box there is also...

NAIL POLISH OVERLOAD! I ♥ IT. I really want to keep them for myself but they have to go to the business. These are from my sister and aunt abroad. But I also bought some online and they were in the box, too. So without further ado...

I'm in love. I know they say that we should love people not things but I can't help it when there are far more cute and pretty things that can be bought from a store. Gosh, I really want to keep them for myself!!! Especially China Glaze's For Audrey. And the gray one, too. If only I were filthy rich, I'd buy every China Glaze, OPI, Orly, Rescue and other nail polish brands' colors out there. Plus, I really love how they smell.

Thank you, AB! I really hope we could visit her next year which reminds me, I need to get our pictures taken.

Movies #71 and #72: Real Steel, No Other Woman

I wasn't planning on watching Real Steel because I thought it was an action movie. I've been hearing the movie plug on radio, that it's about robots boxing and I never really developed interest in boxing and robots. But after mass last Sunday, A+D asked me if I wanted to come with them to watch Real Steel. In fernez, it was a nice watch and not really about robots boxing. Well, technically it is but what I mean is it was not the main plot of the story. It tells us a lesson that we shouldn't give up easily on our dreams, that if we work hard on it maybe we will still achieve it. One thing though, Hugh Jackman's character didn't really want his son nor he had love for him and wouldn't want anything to do with him until his son showed interest in robot boxing and his son's salvaged robot was actually winning matches- so without the common interest and money, would he still learn to love his son?

Finally, I got to watch this and it didn't disappoint. It's a funny take on an otherwise serious issue- adultery. The acting was good because I am no other woman (or anybody else's woman for that matter) but I actually cried when Anne Curtis' character begged for Derek Ramsay to not leave her. All the while I was crying I was like, "ano ba 'to, hindi naman ako kabit?" So I guess effective ang acting.

There were a few quotable quotes I found funny like when Anne Curtis was lounging in her snakeskin bathing suit and Cristine Reyes asked her if that's her bathing suit or actually her skin. Award.

Oh no I'm way past my self-imposed time limit here on the internet so I would have to bid you adieu.
