Eat Pray Love
Started watching last Friday but had to leave in the middle because I accompanied mommy to church. At least I only have an hour or so of what I thought was a dragging movie. But I always finish what I start so here it is...First of all, I was also not that into the book. I really thought she was selfish. She wanted out of her marriage and the reason was they grew apart. They grew apart. Not a valid reason, in my honest opinion. Why not take a sabbatical from your marriage instead? Wait, is there such a thing? There should be!
Now, in comparison with the book, andaming kulang. Before I thought it's better to read the book first before you watch the movie. Dapat ata watch the movie first before you read the book. I read The Time Traveler's Wife and Eat Pray Love first and I found their movies lacking. And in the case of P.S. I Love You, I watched the movie first then read the book and appreciated the book more. Or maybe it's just really the book or the movie.
The Social Network
I've heard so much buzz about this one. A lot of raves, actually.Three things:
- Mark Zuckerberg is an ass if the the movie portrayal of him is accurate. He bashes his ex-girlfriend on the internet and he betrays his best friend who helped him put up this billion-dollar enterprise. Just an observation ha, he's very typical of geeks who make it big- they want to seek revenge on that girl who rejected them or the jocks who bullied them or just anyone who they thought didn't pay attention to them. But even with all that money, he still is miserable and couldn't get Erica Albright back. That is if this story is accurate.
- What was Erica Albright thinking? Why does she have a Facebook account? Why!?!?! Though I think the ending was brilliant. Loved it. Imagine, 6 billion dollars yet you couldn't get that one thing you want?
- I really feel for the best friend. I don't really care about the Winklevoss. Eduardo deserves so much better than that betrayal. If there's anything Mark could do for his friend who helped him start up all this Facebook thing, it is to protect the interest of his friend.
