lame attempt to make 2010 look awesome

(though it really was awesome)

Second attempt to write a year in review post. It was supposed to be a month by month account of how 2010 was spent but looking just at the big picture would make it seem like a very boring, uneventful year. And I beg to disagree because I think 2010 was just awesome. Instead, I think I will be sticking with something I did for the past years.

I would like to be able to tell you that in the past year I...
* already lost the 30 lbs I have been promising to lose five years ago
* have become a millionaire
* have been in a relationship
* read at least 24 books
* traveled out of the country again
* already took the DELE
* gotten a language course summer scholarship to Spain
* learned how to drive
* watched 100 Movies
* spent more time thinking of how to make money

Instead, I have to tell you that in the past year I...
* just lost 2 measly lbs which I quickly gained back come holiday season
* am still nowhere near that 1 frickin' million pesos
* am still SSB but mind you, I did join this speed dating event last year for Valentine's Day (for a good cause naman daw eh)
* just read only 5 or 6 books
* went home to my parents' hometown which, in fairness, still requires getting on an airplane
*still have an excuse to not take the DELE
* have forgotten all about the beca
* can't even imagine myself getting behind the wheel
* watched only 62 movies
* must have spent more time thinking how to spend

However, in the past year I also...
* learned new skills- lash perming and lash extensions
* participated in one of the biggest bazaars in town
* finally finished reading El Zahir, which was part of my resolutions for five years
* missed loved ones who opted to work abroad
* missed having friends readily available whenever I needed to talk to someone
* found out very useful information
* rekindled my love for radio
* finally had a Teen Vogue magazine subscription c/o AB
* did something nice for my pits. Laser hair removal, baby! Though I do miss plucking. I miss the pain. I like pain.


In the next year, I am hoping to...
* for the businesses to do much better
* learn how to make cupcakes with yummy and colorful icings on top
* finally lose the 30 lbs I've been meaning to lose for years now
* be in a relationship with someone who's preferably attractive, nice, responsible, hardworking, honest and not married. Simple lang naman gusto ko diba? Hindi naman ako mapili :p
* still learn how to drive even if it kills me just imagining it
* visit my sister in New York
* and read a book in Central Park while waiting for her to get off from work, preferably in autumn time
* get to know person-of-interest, hopefully before the ultimatum
* watch 100 Movies
* get my products into a department store
* have lots and lots of moolah so I could buy my dream Chanel 2.55

Hmm.. I'm not so happy with this 2010 Review. Hope I could come up with something much better. Anyway, even if it may seem that 2010 was uncool like a geeky high school misfit judging from this post, believe me, it was one helluva year. No matter what other people say about 'reality' and even bursting my bubble and my positivity shizz, HAPPINESS IS A DECISION AND I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY.
