Holidays are coming!

Just 26 days before Christmas!

I'm so excited but apparently, for no reason at all except that I love countdowns. Oh, another reason why I love the Christmas season is... the cool weather. It is this only time of the year that we get to experience cool weather here in Manila. And I love it! I get to layer my clothes and wear tights! Haha!

I'm off to Mindoro later this day. I'm going with Juno to their "mansyon." Hehe. And I'll get to go inside Princess Juno's lair. I'm sort of worried that it is still raining since we'll be taking a ferry ride going there. I'm scared of boat rides.

Enchanted

I watched Enchanted yesterday with my sisters and cousins. I LOVE IT! It was so pretty.

Damsel-in-distress. Prince Charming. Wicked step-mother. A royal ball. Poisoned apples. Glass slippers. Midnight. And the presence of another prince charming.

A chop-suey story, Disney-style.

The movie was about a would-be cartoon princess, Giselle, who was banished to a world where, supposedly, there are no happily-ever-afters by her Prince Charming's wicked step-mother.

I grew up watching Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast and Aladdin and wished I were Ariel, Belle or Princess Jasmine. Ergo, I enjoyed this movie sooo much since it was very reminiscent of those Disney movies I've once watched and loved. There was singing and dancing and that poofy princess gown. Aside from bringing back memories from childhood, it was amusing as well.

The only thing that almost annoyed the hell out of me was that thing she does with her hands whenever she's talking. At first, it was okay but after a few minutes to the movie and she was doing it every frickin' time, she started to look like a retard.

Although I now don't believe that someone will sweep me off my feet and happily-ever-afters are almost non-existent, I still enjoy these types of movies. They don't require much thinking and you leave your seat with a smile on your face, without regretting that you just spent P120.

PS. My cousin cried at this movie. That just proved how neurotic she is.

Addicted to GG

I've wanted to post an entry since last week but since I was busy with some stuff and it's busy in the room (meaning, I don't have the privacy I need to write in here).

Again, I am into my role as a tourist guide/yaya to my cousin who is here in Manila to obtain a Canadian visa. Do not take this negatively as I actually enjoy times like these. It's just that by Sunday, my feet were killing me! Starting Thursday, I was walking non-stop- from the streets of Makati to the ugly tiling of Robinsons Place Ermita to the unjustifiably huge Mall of Asia. I don't know if my feet ached from all the walking I did or my legs are already complaining and couldn't take my weight anymore. Maybe both...

Back to Saturday afternoon... Ycel, Juno and I were supposed to have a lunch date at RP. But just as I suspected, Juno didn't make it, leaving only Ycel and me to spend the afternoon together. We started by eating lunch. Ycel treated me to chicken teriyaki and beef something at Teriyaki Boy. It took me a gazillion years to finish up my lunch but this was due to the fact that I was pacing my meal. It was Kosh's birthday and she brought some pansit for the class ergo the almost full stomach. After lunch, we did a lot of strolling. Checked out Powerbooks and looked for the Gossip Girl book series and found it. I bought the first book of the series and I now have started a new collection.
  1. Gossip Girl
  2. You Know You Love Me Thanks Crissa!
  3. All I Want Is Everything
  4. Because I'm Worth It
  5. I Like It Like That
  6. You're the One That I Want
  7. Nobody Does It Better
  8. Nothing Can Keep Us Together
  9. Only In Your Dreams
  10. Would I Lie to You?
  11. Don't You Forget About Me
  12. It Had To Be You Thanks Ycel!
Speaking of Gossip Girl, I am still hooked to the series but week by week, I am kind of finding the most recent episodes lacking. There aren't much nice clothes to look at. Nevertheless, that didn't stop me from looking forward to the series and wishing that everyday were Thursday.

As compared to the book, the TV series is more tame. In the book, marijuana, alcohol and PMS appeared more frequently than on the tv series. Even if I have read only the first few chapters, I have noticed that there were a lot of differences.

In the book, Dan is described as a chain-smoking, poetry-loving, somber boy. Whereas in the tv series, he doesn't smoke and wasn't really portrayed as sullen.

In the book, Jenny has 34D boobs whereas in the series, she is sooo tiny and I didn't even notice that she has boobs.

In the book, Blair was more likable than Serena. She was just a sensitive girl who is so in love with her gorgeous boyfriend. In the series, she is more hateful and scheming. She has every right to get mad at Serena and stay mad at Serena, both in the book and in the series, but Serena was portrayed as a nice girl sorry for the things she has done. In the book, Serena came back to NY without a hint of being sorry for what she has done to Blair. When she came back, she continued to get close to Nate. Malandi baga. But on tv, she was seen as distancing herself away from Nate (and Chuck).

And Chuck.. in the book, it didn't seem that he was very close to Nate. And Nate was portrayed as a flirt, to Serena and some girl she sees in the pizzeria.

Vanessa was bald in the book and she also goes to Constance Billard whereas on tv, she has headful of hair and she isn't attending the said school.

But I love the fact that there were discrepancies. That means that the series isn't faithful to the book version which means that Dan might not be questioning his sexuality during the latter part of the series. I crush Dan and I am fervently hoping that he will not harbor any same-sex tendencies. Please. And I get my money's worth since the story is a little different from what I have already watched.

Kdorama: Coffee Prince

Another Yoon Eun-hye drama. The drama was adapted from a Korean manga. Not as good as Goong but I enjoyed it as well. May mga moments lang talaga na "hello!" Basta.

Go Eun-chan (Eun-hye) plays a tomboy here who gets mistaken for a boy by Choi Han-kyul (Gong Yoo). The plot thickens when Han-kyul hires Eun-chan to pretend as his gay lover, not knowing that Eun-chan is indeed a girl, to get out of blind dates his grandma arranges for him. Then Han-kyul puts up a coffee shop called Coffee Prince, hence the title.

Han-kyul hired Eun-chan (still clueless as to her real gender) and 3 others. He must triple the amount his grandma invested on the coffee shop within six months and within those six months Eun-chan started to fall for Han-kyul. Han-kyul also starts to feel something for Eun-chan but since he thinks Eun-chan is a boy, tries to fight it. Han-kyul even tried to address their closeness as a hyung-dongsaeng relationship but still his feelings of looove for Eun-chan is so strong. Basta eventually he finds out Eun-chan's true gender. At first he was mad since he felt betrayed and cheated but, of course, also relieved that he is not gay.

Funny but I got squeamish on some scenes.

And I don't think Eun-chan looks sooo much like a boy that Han-kyul would never suspect that she is actually a girl. Pero nga, drama lang ito... hindi na kailangan gugulan ng maraming panahon para pag-isipan. It's there to give people a good laugh.

And this is the only Korean drama Ate Dot watched. Ha! Finally, nahulog na rin siya sa bitag ng Korean series! Bwahahaha! Since Ate Che and Bam were in Boracay for the holiday, she was my fellow Coffee Prince viewer.

Para kay Juno...

WALA SIYANG BABA!!!

Hahaha!!!
