pick flick: easy A

One post before I retire for the day. I was supposed to do labels and stuff today yesterday but AD asked if I could go to her office which, technically, is conveniently located in a mall so she could show me the computer table she would give as a Christmas gift to me, the shoes she wants to buy for herself and to bring that paper on which I traced daddy's shoe size. Since I only hitched a ride with Vicky, with whom I got into a screamfest just yesterday over chimichangas' fight, who was in a hurry, I forgot to bring daddy's shoe size. Well, my pride's pretty cheap- I'd rather hitch a ride with her til the nearest MRT station than spend a little less than 100 (and of course, the effort) if I commute.

I can watch anything with my freebie ticket except Megamind in 3D and Unstoppable. Choice was between Megamind and Easy A. Although I enjoyed the last cartoon movie I watched which was Despicable Me, I was not that keen on watching another one too soon. Besides, I could watch that on DVD na lang since I was more excited to see Easy A.
Aside from watching movies, I also enjoy watching movie trailers which you wouldn't be able to do if you're watching DVDs at home. Speaking of trailers, I saw this Warrior's Way trailer with Jang Dong-gun as the lead. Oh wow! I'm so proud of my Asian brothas, lol. Actually more than that, I'm just giddy that he'll be starring in an international movie because I used to watch his Korean dramas and movies. Nag-level up na siya: from Hallyu to Hollywood. And also, I think I saw Chester Bennington in Saw 3D's trailer. Sellout. Joke ;) I think I want to watch Saw in 3D.
  1. Because I got in into the middle of the movie, it was Amanda Bynes's face I first saw and my first reaction was: "I thought she's retired from acting?" Looks like I didn't get the memo. But I'm glad she's back cos I am a fan and I do enjoy her movies (Sydney White, She's the Man). And dayum, she's pretty leggy... I am envious!
  2. Though this is only the second Emma Stone movie I've seen (House Bunny being the first), I can say that I ♥ Emma Stone! She is so funny. Her lisp distracts me though. Still, I think she's genius. I love it how she makes those facial expressions and actions cos she seems so real and how she's not afraid to make herself 'ugly.' I'm not sure as to her other movies but it seems to me that she always plays the role of a geek chick. I wonder if she's a nerd in real life. I especially loved that Pocketful of Sunshine bit. Hilarious. I can frickin' relate with her when it comes to being able to amuse her own self because I can do that. And oh, I love her room! I want that room!
  3. The only thing I know of this movie is that Emma Stone's starring in it and it's about this rumor that's absolutely false. I totally had no idea as to the other actors who'll be in it. Imagine my surprise when Dan aka Penn Badgley entered the scene. Gah! Bumalik crush ko sa kanya, circa Gossip Girl season 1. So maybe only Dan the character is what's turning me off against Penn Badgley; otherwise, I still find him cute.
  4. I remember third year high school in this movie not for anything else but because it was when we read Scarlet Letter and were asked to do a book report on it. And so I can perfectly understand the premise of the movie.
  5. I also would want my life to be like an 80s movie! Who doesn't want to be Andie (Molly Ringwald) who scores the good-looking Blaine in Pretty in Pink? Or Keith (Mary Stuart Masterson) who gets the guy in the end in Some Kind of Wonderful? Sadly, my teenage years were devoid of any kilig feelings of the non-fictional kind. This makes me want to have a John Hughes movie marathon soon and, again, vicariously feel the giddiness of teenage love.
  6. I came in late, right? I came in after Olive (Stone) stated that she wanted her life to be an 80s movie and I missed all that reference to them. So I am so proud that I still got the reference to Say Anything when Todd shows up holding headphones blaring Simple Minds' Don't You (Forget About Me). Props to me! See, my obsession for teenybopper films and my frantic search for VCDs (pre-torrents days) paid off :)
I am in love with teenybopper films! After I am done with all these business stuff, I will have a movie marathon of all the teenybopper movies I own and declare it my cheat day so I could gobble down chips and coke while wishing that my high school days were like that. Frickin' exclusive school for girls! Haha.
