end of the affair

All good things must come to an end.

Has it really been 5 years already? It's sad because I have grown so attached to this series and among all the series I have watched or am currently watching, I have the most unconditional love for this one. With Gossip Girl, I have unconditional love towards Blair and only Blair and I admit that there were times back in the 3rd season when I entertained thoughts of stopping watching it. But I stuck through it and I am sticking with it  mainly because of her. How I Met Your Mother's consistently funny so there's no need to force myself to watch it. With Glee, I stopped watching it altogether- too trying hard to be socially relevant, imho. But with Chuck... this is real love, y'all! All characters are lovable (well, maybe except for the villains). No characters you'd want to get hit by a bus or fall off a cliff such as Vanessa Abrams or Jenny Humphrey.

Omigosh, I remember signing up an online petition for Chuck's 3rd season... and at that time, even if the third season would be their last, I am fine with it just as long as they give me an ending. Imagine my joy when I found out that they were picked up for a 4th season, then a 5th. I was elated. Wow, it has been three years since signing that online petition.

I have yet to thank that guy who sold me the Chuck DVD set. At the time, I have NEVER heard of Chuck nor Zachary Levi nor anyone in the cast and I had NO intention of buying but since he was superduper makulit and practically shoving it in my face, I gave in. And now I have him to thank for this serendipitous find.

It hasn't been all roses, my relationship with Chuck. There were episodes that I thought were corny or boring. There were times when I thought that it was getting redundant and how I wondered why no one seems to be a plain civilian around them. Either someone's from Fulcrum, The Ring or one of Volkoff's minions. But I guess such is inevitable. In order to appreciate something in its truest sense, we must go through with them though the good and the worst. Word. But whatever, I'm glad I stuck with it all these years. Who cares if five years in Burbank could turn a man into butter? I like butter. Butter is nice :)

I am soooo in love with Sarah + Chuck. We all kinda knew where the relationship is headed to but still it was one helluva I-feel-it-in-my-fingers-I-feel-it-in-my-toes 42-minute ride every week. I was crying while watching because I knew they won't be back for Season 6. I was actually crying during those flashback scenes.

Chuck's a big influence in my life because I made him my peg for the perfect boyfriend. Diba??? Fine, he's not  a hunk-a-babe with six-pack abs, but he has a kick-ass amazing sense of humor and he's smart and he's kind. Ayun lang, he works at a Buy More, LOL. But whatever. I'd still take him ANYfrickinTIME.

Chuck and Sarah. Elie and Awesome. Casey. Morgan. Jeffster. General Beckman. EVERYONE. Oh yes, I am this attached to this series. I love it THIS MUCH. Even if they gave me a sort of an open-ended ending (which I really hate because I they're called endings for a reason), I love it truly, madly, deeply. Unconditional love, y'all! I really thought they could make Sarah's memories, her memories with Chuck, come back. Okay, fine.. move on na nga. They'll make new memories na lang together. Everyone's moved on. And so should I.

So long. Farewell.
You will be missed.

PS. Next time we have a dog (which is sometime soon because bitch is preggers), I am naming the pups, Chuck Bartowski and Sarah Walker.

gossip girl catch-up post

I am absolutely for Dan+Blair not because of anything else but that Blair can still be her old self around Dan. Sure, she loves Chuck but the two of them is just way too complicated that they just end up hurting each other. And Louis, he's not the man that Blair used to like and please, that annoying accent has got to go away. Pero in fairness, Louis isn't as annoying as Jenny and Vanessa.

I think that it's just so sweet of Dan to be there for Blair even if it is not doing anything in his favor and for this reason alone I really really REALLY want them to end up together. And Dan being in love with Blair is killing Serena and her ego; ergo, I am so for it.

Alright, Blair obviously loves Chuck that she's willing to do what should be done even if it means the end of her happiness. I just love that scene when she was praying to God, that He has already taken her baby so please save Chuck in exchange for any chances of being with him and the door suddenly opens and the nurse said that Chuck is asking for her. But after making that pact with God, she feels that it is unfair to live like that and asks the priest if God would understand if she breaks off her engagement and go back to Chuck and then she looks out the window and sees...

Chuck, almost got hit by a cab. God's [or the universe's] way of telling her they can never be.

So anyway, Dan and Blair have been spending so much time together that Louis is suspecting that they are having an affair. So to dispel the rumors and not let Blair's secret out when Dan was pushed to the wall and pressed for answers, Serena saves him by saying Dan is going out with her again. But oh I bet she really wants Dan back. Yes, let's torture Serena and her ego ☺
Serena's all contemplative about that midnight kiss with Dan
but Dan couldn't care less...
BOO-YA!
I feel sorry for those who stopped watching GG after that horrendous third season because they didn't stay long enough to this awesomeness that is the fifth season. I LOVE EEEET! Unconditional love, y'all!

Sobrang pa-martyr si Dan. Oh well, I guess the next best thing to being Blair's boyfriend/better half/etc. is being her confidant. But writing Louis' vow for Blair? That one I don't get but yeah, I guess he really loves Blair. Again, I really feel Blair must have been saint in her past life to deserve all these good karma [read: three good-looking boys who love her]. And yes Serena, you should really be jealous at ang loka puma-paraan pa...

RT 2012 peli: romantic island

I haven't seen a Korean movie for a long time. Kung dati naguumapaw ang aming video library ng Korean movies and series, ngayon mostly US series and movies na naman. Well, that is due to the reason that there aren't that many good dramas and movies nowadays. I miss the old-school movies and dramas and the actors. I MISS WON BIN! Nasaan na nga ba siya?

Anyway, AB recommended that I watch Romantic Island. The movie was shot in the Philippines- in Manila and Boracay. Downloaded it immediately because I can't wait to watch it. Excited much? Well, it's not everyday [nor every year, not even every 5 years] that a foreign film picks the Philippines as their location.

Six people. All have different reason for coming to the Philippines. Jae-hyuk, a rich businessman, because of his father's death; Soo-Jin went to the Philippines to run away from her family (and their financial problems); Jung-hwan, I didn't really get why he went in the first place LOL; Ga-young, a popular popstar in Korean who's suffering from a burnout; and, a middle-aged couple on a leisure trip.

My thoughts...
♥ It was a nice movie albeit with a predictable ending. DUH! It wasn't titled Romantic Island for nothing. But out of three stories, my favorite was the middle-aged couple's. The husband brought her wife to the Philippines, supposedly, to treat his wife to a little R&R. But what the wife didn't know was the husband has brain tumor and during this vacation he planned on taking his life. Having the operation isn't 100% foolproof so he opted to just die because his family will get a huge sum of money if he did. He attempted a number of times, including jumping off a boat with the purpose of drowning himself but the water was only knee-deep and electrocuting himself by dropping a working hair dryer in a water-filled bath tub but the cable was too short.

♥ They showcased the usual touristy places such as Intramuros and Boracay...

which I think really has the best sunsets I've seen.

But what I liked is that even the dingy places in Manila they have somehow made artistic and charming.

I liked the scenery, which I bet is different if you can smell the scent of Manila at the same time. Wow Philippines!

♥ What's with ocho-ocho? Naloka ako I swear! Is that the best we can offer? Oh well, maybe it appealed to their taste, hehe.

♥  There was this one time when he was waving his money openly in the alleys of Manila and someone swiped it off his hands. I guess that will happen in whatever country you're in if you do that. At dapat pala may caveat sa mga turista: nangangain ng tanga ang Maynila. But aside from that, wala naman na. And the money changer who swindled them was Korean... in fairness, hindi Pinoy.

♥ Pero naman why the face of the extras? Napaisip tuloy ako kung madami ngang maganda sa Pilipinas. I swear, the look of poverty!
Fine.

It was a good watch. Kinilig talaga ako everytime I hear the word Philippines and Manila.

This is what happens when I work in front of the computer...

I post a lot and I mean, A LOT.

Third post for the day.

Beautiful song.

The first time I heard this I fell in love with it instantly. Almost three years and I am still in love with it. Is it because I can relate to it? Haha. Well, before I did relate to it but now no more. Wala na akong crush kaya boring na. Kaya okay lang kung pangit ako haha.

These two songs are on repeat for two days now.

note to self

But how little? Because I think that is subjective.

RT2012 book 4: catching jordan

When unrequited love is the most
expensive thing on the menu,
sometimes you settle for the daily special.

I've never finished reading a pdf file book this fast, meaning Catching Jordan was a good read. I am tremendously enjoying these books in the YA category, maybe because they are giving me my dose of kilig. Kunwari cheesy pa, nae-enjoy din naman ;)

The book is about Jordan Woods, the only female member of the Hundred Oaks High football team. Coming from a family who lives and breathes football, she grew up loving the sport and not only as a spectator. She dreams of getting into the University of Alabama to play college football, but it seems that her father does not support her in this endeavor. She enjoys the company of her teammates who not only respect her as their captain but also love and protect her as her friends. Sam Henry is her best friend among all of them.

Jordan and Sam knew each other since they were seven and 10 years after, they still have those sleepovers at Jordan's house only they have to sleep head-to-toe position, as per Jordan's mom's condition. Jordan hated cheerleaders and anything girly for that matter (but most especially cheerleaders because she thinks they're stupid) so this made some assume she's harboring same-sex tendencies. All of that changed when Ty Green shows up in Hundred Oaks. With the looks and body of a demi-god (that's what I imagined him to be), Jordan never felt her knees turn to rubber.

But as soon as she scores the boyfriend of her dreams (or so she thought), she finds out that her bestfriend Henry is in love with her. She, then, realizes that she too is in love with Henry but couldn't just ditch Ty. So here begins her love (Henry vs. Ty) and life (Alabama vs. other options) dilemma.

My thoughts...

  1. What I hate about these love stories is that the protagonist is single for so long and when a prospect comes along, he is NEVER alone. Someone to whom the protagonist's equally attracted to enters the scene. So our protagonist ends up all confused on who to choose. I mean, why can't they come not at the same time? Pwede bang darating na lang si A kung wala na si B?
  2. Again, only high school kids but they're so promiscuous I am absolutely shocked. And not only that... Sige na, I get it that they'd do the deed but only after they're sure they "love" each other and after like, say, 3 months? But after a few days? Preposterous. Sabagay, in the day and age of one-night-stands I guess this is common. Gahd, I am such a prude.
Argh! Is it pathetic that I am getting my dose of kilig reading YA books or from teenybopper movies? But I really take pride in the fact that I have never fallen in love bwahahaha! Crushes don't count because they're just that, crushes. Whatever.

Anyway, Chasing Jordan kept my eyes glued on that itty bitty LCD screen of my mobile phone for hours. I kept feeling my stomach is in knots on the kilig parts or as I put it, the I-feel-it-in-my-fingers-I-feel-it-in-my-toes feeling. Ah basta kinikilig ako. I think I am addicted to YA books now and not that that's bad but I should really be reading that marketing book. Hehe.
