chuck versus rex manning

Chuck catch-up day.

I know I stopped posting about my takes on Chuck 16 episodes ago but I will try to get my hand on it again because I know these last three episodes of season 4 are awesome! And while the internet is all mine ;)

Chuck S04 E22: Chuck Versus Agent X
Going to start this with something totally unrelated to the series but I loved that they used Ke$ha's Blow. Ke$ha is my guilty pleasure- I tried to resist liking her digitally-enhanced tunes most especially after hearing Blah Blah Blah but except for the aforementioned, I dig all her released songs.

Chuck has gone a long way- from a self-deprecating geek to a valued CIA asset albeit still a geek. Chuck's geeky-ness is what endears him to me so I hope he never loses it. So our favorite geek has his bachelor party and look who are invited
the Buy More-ons! That shouldn't come as a surprise as he still works in the Buy More and they are his friends and I could just imagine all the ka-engotan Jeff and Lester would come up with. But who's looking after the Buy More with all the bigwigs heading to Las Vegas Las Vecas and Reno Reneaux, Canada.

Chuck comes clean with Ellie and she is not at all disappointed. Working on her dad's computer maybe made her somewhat fascinated with the world of secret service. I kind of knew where this is headed- Ellie might be joining Chuck and friends. But I could be wrong as with all other presuppositions I had.

Chuck S04 E23: Chuck Versus the Last Details
Yes, Chuck is really adorkable and Casey might be regretting the day he took on this case cos this is what led to Morgan and his daughter's fateful meeting. Seriously, who wouldn't love this series? No matter how bad ass and cold Casey looks, the man still has a heart... maybe after four years with Bartowski, he's now more in touch with his emotions and it's touching how he's developed a soft spot for Morgan, well mainly because of his daughter but then if he's really cold-blooded he'd see this an opportunity to get rid of Morgan.

Jeffster made Sarah and Chuck's prenup video and it's hilarious! First two seconds I was like awww, then Lester's face appears on the screen and it's freaking joke time... and because I'm writing this as I watch, I know this is not yet the last episode (one more episode to go) but all those merrymaking ends up with this
Starting on the show's season finale now...

Chuck S04 E24: Chuck Versus The Cliffhanger
As the episode title suggests, I think we will be left with a cliffhanger this season. Drat. I hate... oh wait... it's just a cliffhanger, meaning we will have our ending just not now. I think this is one situation where I can sit patiently with my hands on my lap til the next season and find out what happens. After all that has happened, I will still have my happy ending
which for a moment there, I thought would never happen.

Seriously, this series is awesome and everything that happens is well-thought of. That is just my opinion and others may think otherwise but I am so so so over the moon over Chuck. It could sometimes get bogus but I enjoy watching it so much. The premise of this show isn't exactly reality so it's easy to not really think about the veracity of things. Unlike Bones where they come up with all these techie gadgets Angela uses which would make you go, "really now..." Don't get me wrong because I love Bones but they seem to have the perfect technology for every case. But I don't do that with Chuck; I take it ALL in.

You would think how could everyone seems to be affiliated with the government or the bad guys and how no one is really a civilian anymore but four seasons of Chuck and episode after episode of awesomeness I've learned to just go with it. It's fun and entertaining and gives me my regular dose of kilig.

According to this site, we will be having a fifth season. Yay! We've come a long way, baby ;) After we fought so hard for season 3 (well, not really that hard. we just had to sign an online petition), we're now on season 5. They're going rogue in the next season and who knows this might actually attract more viewers. But isn't this show awesome enough? Why the need for more awesomeness? If ever season 5 will be Chuck's last, I think I can accept that most especially because we know that he ended up (and married) Sarah Walker and to what extent can they drag this. Better that they end this with an awesome awesome storyline than just dragging it on forever until it gets crappy which I highly doubt ;) Chuck ♥, y'all!

week 21: i still haven't ran out of excuses

monday
i have a delivery tuesday so i spent almost the entire day putting my babies inside their pouches. i really take so much pride and joy in seeing my finished products... after a long process of manual labor and i see this
then i'm one very happy bunny. i did this while watching episodes of lie to me 2 and rio- multi-tasking is what i do best. when i have put each and every bottle inside the pouch, attached every tag and tied every ribbon, i went to work on my room- clean-up time! must have finished at 2am putting everything into place and to cap it all off, i changed my sheets. new sheets- one of life's simple pleasures.
tuesday
accompanied V and the kids to the pedia. they changed pedia- somewhere near and the doctor's much, much nicer. the kids are sick- J has instestinal flu and JJ throws up after every feeding. the pedia just gave them meds to take. savemore to buy meds and merienda.

waited for AD to come home and accompany me to my delivery at mcdonald's katipunan. delivered my babies to their owner. after a successful delivery, we made our way to starbucks and treated AD to green tea frap and i had my ol' favorite mocha frap with less whipped cream but with additional chocolate drizzle ;)

and oh, tonight's bones' episode was too much to handle, ya'll! i got too giddy over that final scene:
you know how booth and bones always have their celebratory drink after solving a case, right? the episode was about this man who kept three wives. bones asked how can a man love more than one to wit booth answered that no matter how many women a man loves, there's always one he loves the most and while we was saying this he was looking at bones while bones' attention was at cam. booth was staring at her. while he was saying that there's always one woman a man will love the most. staring. at bones. and when bones looked back, booth looked away
wednesday
lazy day. did nothing. was on the internet and found out about the break-up of patty laurel and atom. at affected talaga ako, haha. fans ako eh. hehe. you know what's funny- i got teary-eyed when i found out. oh well. does this mean available na uli si atom??? asa. haha.
thursday
woke up with a bad case of stomachache- had intestinal flu and threw up once. just laid on my bed the entire day and slept.
friday
went to the mall early to pay bills. bought lunch for ate jo and rona who always help me with my orders. i liked chooks to go when i first tasted it but now not anymore. by the way, it still needs sawsawan. mas winner pa rin ang lechon manok ni mr. see.

worked on june's inventory. mondays are sacred to me because they're the day i can do anything i want- slack off bigtime- and not feel guilty, so as much as possible i don't do anything shop-related. so worked on the shop's supplies today and finished most of it. i still have to go back there on monday but at least, minimal work only.
saturday
i was a good girl and went to the shop in the morning. i thought daddy cooked dinuguan for lunch so i went home for lunch but there was no dinuguan. daddy said we'll be eating out instead. we went to sle and had lunch at trusty ol' max's. i had half spring chicken chicklet. chicken ♥, y'all!

i thought we would make it home early so i would still have time to go online and tend to my city but alas! we made it home at 5:30 in the afternoon and i had to meet someone in eastwood at 6pm. buti na lang may lakad din siya sa eastwood kaya hindi ko kailangan magmadali. arrived in eastwood around 7:30pm and met A. we waited for M in o'sonho, where we had A's birthday dinner. o'sonho is overpriced, imo, because the food wasn't fabulous. maybe because i ordered their pasta carbonara and i am not a fan of white sauce. i totally missed out on that detail when i ordered for that. M arrived. reminisced about the good ol' days. excused myself to meet up with a client then back to my friends at red mango to have dessert. M went ahead of A and i and we continued our chat at starbucks over frap and tea. my sister fetched me at 2:30am and i'm so happy that A stayed with me until my sundo came.

a day well spent ☺
sunday
daddy cooked dinuguan and inihaw na hito for lunch ♥♥♥ that was the highlight of my day.

daddy's going back to the province this week :( i reckon we will be celebrating AC's birthday in advance so daddy will still be here for her celebration. i miss having my whole family here.

week 20: hey, things are looking up

monday
lakwatsa day with ycel. meet-up in front of greenhills shopping center at 11am and good news is i wasn't late! i arrived on time. i even had time to go to the chapel and say a little prayer. lunch at le ching too, cos i thought they also have lemon chicken short orders or something like that but they only have dimsum- which was sort of a disappointment for us (or maybe just me cos i was really really hungry already). you know, wai ying may not be the most aesthetically appealing but they are one of the best chinese food places in the metro; personally, i think they have the best hakao and the best lemon chicken. started our shopping for ycel's stuff and we must have went through every nook and cranny in the whole greenhills complex and we only found less than ten articles of clothing... i think. after going through tiangge aisles one last time, we took a taxi going to shang.
to find the perfect pair of red shoes for ycel because she failed to find one that strikes her fancy in greenhills. poor ycel was already grimacing in pain- her feet were already aching because she had uncomfortable slippers on. she bought a pair of red shoes alright though she just settled for them. she also got a pair of cute espadrilles. i so wanted this nail polish color from orly and i paid a visit in rustan's to see if they have it already- wala pa rin. nail polish heaven but i can't bloody believe how a frickin' 15ml bottle of color can cost P800+  i was thinking if i were to buy an P800 bottle of nail polish for personal use, that would be unwise and if i were to buy it for my shop, i don't think my clients would pay additional 100 pesos for it. oh well. dinner at c2- yummy in my tummy!
we walked all the way to megamall to get on our respective "rides" - ycel in her biyaheng quiapo fx and me in my biyaheng santolan. classy, no? haha.

tuesday
back to reality. did my shop's laundry and because of that, just stayed at home the whole day cos my body was aching from all that kuskos-piga. ay piga lang pala. thanks to our handy dandy washing machine that doesn't drain water- you have to scoop the water out or turn it over to get the water out. i swear there's some kind of energy black hole in this house cos everything seems to break easily. stayed at home to continue my secret garden marathon while doing legit online research for expansion plans.

wednesday
sent labels for printing and yousendit was excruciatingly slow. must have spent almost the entire day sending files cos i can only send one file at a time being that i only use the free version. online research na lang uli. plus secret garden marathon. ang galing ko gumawa ng excuse, ano?

thursday
my client added 40pcs more to her order- yay! and so i have to pay a visit to my supplier. hitched a ride with my bro-in-law going to supplier and just took the lrt going home. i am so much in ♥ with the lrt right now, how it makes my life soooo much easier. got off at sle to pay my sister's card. a trip to national book store to buy a one-hole puncher. i so wanted to buy new pens but i was able to stop myself cos i already have quite a number of pens at home. one step at a time, eq, one step at a time ;)

friday
at rome to finish do additional order. then to the printer to pick up labels. started my job as a cutting machine- manually cutting labels. sorry naman at naeenjoy ko talagang gumupit ng papel haha. effect ata ito ng napanuod ko sa batibot dati. was supposed to deliver this weekend but because that seems impossible as i am not yet done with them, so moved delivery date on tuesday instead.
and oh, the new maid arrived. hallelujah!

saturday
i was supposed to finish my order in the morning then rex manning in the afternoon, but jo sent me a text early in the morning to ask if i'm free for lunch. i really wanted to beg off this time but i guess i also really wanted to get out of this house... two lakwatsas in a week- not good. lunch at italianni's in rp- complimentary foccacia bread dipped in olive oil, vinegar and parmesan cheese, calamari, ceasar salad and grilled pork chop. all that for two persons. how gluttonous, ya? gallivant around the mall then went to one of my favorite places in manila- divisoria. bought speckles that i wanted to add sana to my sanitizers but turned out they aren't the same speckles. boo.
going home time! it was raining real hard so napabili ako ng payong ng di oras. drat. now i have my own foldable payong with uber cute design. the streets were already flooded when i went outside and this is divisoria, my love, so i just can't tampisaw, y'know. normally, i wouldn't take a pedicab/kuliglig because 1) i fear for my life and, 2) they charge exorbitant rates, but i got on one to the tune of 70 pesos. not bad.
and so i got home safe and sound and still alive~ turns out it still wasn't the end of the world.

sunday
daddy's birthday! was supposed to attend mass at padre pio church but didn't get to go with them as i had to prepare stuff. lunch at savory in hypermart then dessert at starbucks in eastwood mall. with the babies! :) i ♥ starbuck's 5-cheese turnover. after mass, dinner at AD's with mommy, daddy and KB and family. life is good

i repeat- life is good. you just have to believe it to see it. i just have to remind myself that better days are yet to come whenever i'm having crappy days. i remember reading this off a batchmate's website- that's she's having a sucky day but she's still praising God cos she used to have sucky years. and on that note, i praise and thank God for not giving me sucky years. life is good.

oh no!

when it rains, it pours.

kdrama edition.

i'm doomed. this might mean my already ailing, low eq will be challenged tremendously- rex manning vs kdrama marathons. okay, last tawad na talaga 'to- sa june start na talaga ako, i will religiously do my rex manning duties. i have secret garden to blame for sucking me again into the kdrama vortex. i am currently watching this:
and thru dramabeans, i found out about these new dramas that are supposedly, must-sees~

secret garden

kdrama’s making a comeback, well at least in my life. i used to be a korean series addict- winter sonata being my first kdrama series ever. I stopped watching when I couldn’t find good ones anymore. the first wave of hallyu actors such as won bin, kim ha-neul, kwon wang soo, etc were getting less visible and I just don’t get the appeal of the new generation with their plucked brows and metrosexual style. plus, the last few dramas i saw were disappointing. so I stopped. but the batch of hallyu actors I am fond of is staging a comeback so now i rekindle my love relationship with kdramas.

after cinderella’s sister, I was in search of another nice series. my princess was in my list but since its subtitles are still incomprehensible, pass muna ako. AC’s officemate recommended that we watch secret garden and even gave us a copy. so watch it was what I did.

{source}
my thoughts about secret garden:

  1. old-school korean actors- hyun bin and ha ji-won. although all the while I thought it was kim ha-neul haha. it’s such a comfort to see familiar faces ;) well, hyun bin isn’t as cute as he was five years ago and I reckon he’s a too skinny now, but he’s still cute. not as cute but still cute. ha ji-won still looked like how she looked like five years ago, though I prefer her with long hair.
  2. huge doses of kilig factor- oh yes I live for this. I must have smiled, giggled and squirmed in my seat countless of times over countless kilig moments as if it were happening to me. piggy back rides. benches. staples of korean love stories. kahit paulit-ulit, parang hindi ko pagsasawaan.
  3. oska. I have a love-hate relationship with this character. he’s funny and he’s nice to gil ra im but I really can’t stand his wardrobe. and that hairstyle, omg. an almost fallen star finding a way to make himself big again who’s at the same time nursing a broken heart. this reminds me that you can't really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them.
  4. what’s up with the action school director’s hair? haha. he’s cute when his hair is in a ponytail but when it’s just buhaghag, he just looks like a crazy homeless person. one thing I don’t get from these dramas- director kim has been harboring more than just platonic love for ra-im, even before joo won got in to the picture, so why only now? time is of the essence, people! haven’t we learned our lesson from p’shone (sing lek lek/crazy little thing called love) yet?
  5. hyun bin’s character, joo won, showed us the meaning of persistent. or in tagalog- makulit. as in super kulit. pasalamat siya at cute siya kasi kung hindi, nakakatakot. with his sequined tracksuit, he pursues ra-im to no end, going wherever she goes and this he can do because he has the means to do so. a little childish but very, very cute. but come to think of it, if you encounter a 34-year old guy like that in real life, cute pa rin kaya?
  6. the soul-swapping angle of the series was made the main plot, although I think they could do without it. it would still have been a nice drama without the swap. well, maybe they included it there so both characters would better understand each other. and come to think of it, it was pretty handy for ra-im. at least she wouldn’t have to prove to joo won that his mother is trying to tear them apart.
  7. and yes there’s also amnesia. who would’ve thunk, right? but but but this even made it more nakakakilig cos joo won still liked ra-im even if he thinks his 21-year old self wouldn’t like a girl like ra-im. I don’t think I am even making sense but I hope you get what I’m saying.
  8. lola kisses! joo won kept on doing this all throughout the drama. i get giddy over lola kisses all the time.
  9. notice how their worlds seems to be so small? their lives are interconnected, parang facebook lang and they seem to know all the right people. parang destiny lang… haha. yes, I think this drama is all about destiny and all that shizz. joo won and ra-im were meant to be together. if they hadn’t met back then, they surely would meet each other some other time. personally, I don’t believe that there’s one person destined for us but I believe that if something’s for us, it would find our way to us or we would find our way to it eventually.
  10. ending was a little anti-climactic but I loved it just the same. and they gave me an ending and didn’t leave me hanging as with other dramas ;) a little sad that joo won’s mother still didn’t accept their union.
oh yes I really really really enjoyed watching  secret garden. giddiness galore, just what I like and what I live for- just vicariously albeit. next drama in my list is my girlfriend is a gumiho. I wish it wouldn’t disappoint cos I’ve read good reviews about it but then again I should remember not to set my expectations too high.

note to self

"I'll remember that everything I really need I already have and whatever I don't have will come to me when I am ready to receive."
 - from Will and Grace

it's been a long time

i don't feel too good today. there's still so much to be done but i am not in the mood to do anything. maybe it's pms. maybe it's the uncomfortable hot and humid weather that's making me sweat like a pig and sweat makes me itch all over like crazy. maybe i'm just overwhelmed.

just finished my secret garden marathon yesterday and starting with a new series- lie to me. i seriously want to study psychology. i want to be able to read people because i am praning and i seriously want to know what's everyone thinking. but putting myself to school is out the budget and my mother only offers moral support (and i don't want to obligate her. at this stage of her life, she just needs to enjoy her hard-earned money). so i guess i would have to settle with online journals on psychology and reading books such as this one my sister has on her shelf- reading people: how to understand people and predict their behavior anytime, anyplace by jo-ellan dimitrius, ph.d. and mark mazzarella.

speaking of book assignments (self-imposed), i haven't finished a book lately. i've stalled on my built to last and pride and prejudice readings. i'm busy and i'm easily distracted by the new games i downloaded and dvds and series and documentaries on history channel, nat geo and discovery. before, i devote an hour every morning on my current read but now i can't do that anymore. apparently, there are much important things that needs to be done such as making a living. funny how someone like me who's supposed to have all the time in the world to do everything doesn't have time to do everything. i think i prioritize the wrong things. yes, i think that's it. after i finish lie to me season 1 tonight, i will be on hiatus on my dvd and tv series marathons. i need to discipline myself. movie and series and other stuff i want to marathon will be strictly on mondays only.

also, i think i need to go back to my room. i've been camping out in my sister's room and just this morning when i woke up, i didn't feel to good. i hated sleeping on narrow beds but because the dvd player is in her room (and to avoid AC when she's annoying). so i will fix my room tonight and sleep there.

so now i'm boring you with the most mundane things. i'll post about my monday lakwatsa with ycel ☺went to greenhills to shop for additional wardrobe for her hungary stint. naks, naiba sa aming mga suking malls. took a jeep and a bus going to greenhills and it's a stroll down memory lane for me- i used to take this bus going to university. meet up time was 11am which i am not late to, mind you. had lunch at le ching before we started shopping. after four hours, we were able to go around the entire greenhills compound- theater mall and shoppesville included. went one last round around the tiangge then took a taxi to shangri-la mall. kawawang ycel who was having leg pains still hasn't found her perfect pair of red shoes. wait, i can't even remember is she bought that red pair from so fab! hmm... dinner at c2- menudo ni cabo and rice. lasang... menudo. celebrity sightings- toni rose gayda and carla abellana.

after almost an entire day malling ang tiangge-ing, ycel was able to buy four shirts, a pair of thermal leggings and two (or was is three) pairs of shoes and a bottle of nail polish from face shop. i, on the other hand, was able to buy two floral scrunchies from amanda's place, a bottle of blue nail polish from face shop, two tank tops from ghills and a serendipitous find- healing garden green tea therapy!

super tired but had so much fun with ycel. i'll surely miss her when she leaves for hungary. well, it'll be only for a year or that's what she said. e paano kung doon ka makahanap ng papa?

i feel so much better after writing this post
