Before starting with Day 4, I'm going to show where we stayed in Seoul. It's near Exit 8 and 9 of the orange line, Jongno District. It was cheap. The room is small but what's important was we had our own bathroom and toilet.
Of course I took the top bunk. I'm with the bully, haha. Joke.
So let's get it on with Day 5- el dÃa de mi cumpleaño :)
Day 5: University Belt (sort of) + Back to Myeongdong
I was in charge of that day's itinerary. I wanted to go to the university area just because, haha.

AHLAVET ♥ |
After lunch, we headed to Ewha Women's University which is nearby the first uni we went to. On our going to the Ewha, we passed by lots of stores. I learned that brands have standalone shops versus our mall culture which is everything you can find inside a... mall. Their malls are more like big department stores. I think I like the idea of standalone shops better but since mainit dito sa atin, malls are the shizz.
[THIS POST IS BEING CONTINUED THREE MONTHS AFTER IT WAS FIRST WRITTEN. LIFE HAPPENED, PEEPS. LIFE HAPPENED.]
And now back to regular programming...
Of course, our Seoul experience won't be complete without having bingsu ☺ We've seen a few unfamiliar bingsu places but we opted to still have it in a bingsu place we're familiar with- Seol Hwa, which is also Ho Bing (I think).
Pretty much the same except you have pour the condensed milk yourself. I prefer our bing sus here- the condensed milk is already in the mix and ready to eat when served. And oh, our mangoes are much better. Well their mangoes must have come from us but they're not fresh like what we have here ♥
This view is common in the side streets of Seoul
I wonder why we can't do this here :( I can't help but compare whenever I'm walking the streets (any street) here in Manila. Can't we prettify our city?
After our trip to the university area, I think we went back to Dongdaemun or was it Nandaemun... I can't remember anymore!!! Basta after scouring rows and rows of clothes and socks and hats, we chanced upon this store-
HEAVEN!
I was in pen heaven! Seriously, I wanted to buy all kinds and colors! I know it's not practical and I'd use up all my money if I do so but mark my words, next time I go to Korea, I'll be ready for you. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but I know we'll meet again.
Day 6: National Museum of Korea + Home Sweet Home
Our flight wasn't until 7 or 8 in the evening so we still had time to visit at least one more stop before going to the airport. We chose Korea's National Museum
framing the seoul tower not sure if intentional though (but i bet it was) |
malinis. magalang. laging bago. parang sogo hotel lang. lol. |

Again, I was amazed at how they can keep everything so clean and not musty-smelling. Although I've yet to visit our National Museum before I compare. Entrance is free ☺
For the lack of restaurant choices, this was what I had for lunch
fresh from CVS ☺ lol. |
Yummy lunch still albeit a little too spicy. I don't really ask for an extra serving of rice (seryoso!) but this was one occasion where an extra cup (or two) was needed. Ang anghang kaya!
Time to go to the airport
I loooove how one can go to the airport via train. AHL♥HVET. Totally fuss-free. Why can't we do that here?
For me, Seoul is what we should aspire for our city to be (or Sogo hotel, haha)- Malinis, maganda at walang amoy. Haha. I don't agree with laging bago. History can live in harmony with modernity. Tayo nga mahilig sa laging bago, tapos iiwanan lang nakatiwangwang yung luma hanggang maging pangit at marumi. I am not dissing our country, okay? Sidewalk na lang eh. Simulan natin sa sidewalk. Haha.
So that's it, pansit. I wish I can go back and visit all the spots every K-drama fan should visit ☺ Maybe a few years from now cos I still have other places in mind (at hindi bottomless ang funds, no!). 'Til my next adventure (on a budget)! TTFN!
